[bbe] Now after a long time, the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, Go and let Ahab see you, so that I may send rain on the earth.

[big5] 以利亞就去，要使亞哈得見他。那時，撒瑪利亞有大饑荒；
[bbe] So Elijah went to let Ahab see him. Now there was no food to be had in Samaria.

[bbe] And Ahab sent for Obadiah, the controller of the king's house. (Now Obadiah had the fear of the Lord before him greatly;

[bbe] For when Jezebel was cutting off the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred of them, and kept them secretly in a hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water.)

[big5] 亞哈對俄巴底說：我們走遍這地，到一切水泉旁和一切溪邊，或者找得著青草，可以救活騾馬，免得絕了牲畜。
[bbe] And Ahab said to Obadiah, Come, let us go through all the country, to all the fountains of water and all the rivers, and see if there is any grass to be had for the horses and the transport beasts, so that we may be able to keep some of the beasts from destruction.

[bbe] So they went through all the country, covering it between them; Ahab went in one direction by himself, and Obadiah went in another by himself.

[bbe] And while Obadiah was on his way, he came face to face with Elijah; and seeing who it was, he went down on his face and said, Is it you, my lord Elijah?

[bbe] And Elijah in answer said, It is I; now go and say to your lord, Elijah is here.

[big5] 俄巴底說：僕人有什麼罪，你竟要將我交在亞哈手裡，使他殺我呢？
[bbe] And he said, What sin have I done, that you would give up your servant into the hand of Ahab, and be the cause of my death?
[dunv] 俄巴底說<0559><8799>：僕人有甚麼罪<02398><8804>，你竟要將我{<05650>}交在<05414><8802>亞哈<0256>手<03027>裡，使他殺<04191><8687>我呢？
[big5] 我指著永生耶和華─你的神起誓，無論哪一邦哪一國，我主都打發人去找你。若說你沒有在那裡，就必使那邦那國的人起誓說，實在是找不著你。
[bbe] By the life of the Lord your God, there is not a nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent in search of you; and when they said, He is not here; he made them take an oath that they had not seen you.
[dunv] 我指著永生<02416>耶和華<03068>─你的神<0430>起誓，無論<03426>哪一邦<01471>哪一國<04467>{<0834>}，我主<0113>都打發<07971><8804>人去找<01245><8763>你。若說<0559><8804>你沒有在那裡，就必使那邦<04467>那國<01471>的人起誓<07650><8689>說，實在是找<04672><8799>不著你。
[big5] 現在你說，要去告訴你主人說，以利亞在這裡；
[bbe] And now you say, Go, say to your lord, Elijah is here.
[dunv] 現在你說<0559><8802>，要去<03212><8798>告訴<0559><8798>你主人<0113>說，以利亞<0452>在這裡；
[big5] 恐怕我一離開你，耶和華的靈就提你到我所不知道的地方去。這樣，我去告訴亞哈，他若找不著你，就必殺我；僕人卻是自幼敬畏耶和華的。
[bbe] And straight away, when I have gone from you, the spirit of the Lord will take you away, I have no idea where, so that when I come and give word to Ahab, and he sees you not, he will put me to death: though I, your servant, have been a worshipper of the Lord from my earliest years.
[dunv] 恐怕我一離開<03212><8799>你，耶和華<03068>的靈<07307>就提<05375><8799>你到我所不知道<03045><8799>的地方去。這樣，我去<0935><8804>告訴<05046><8687>亞哈<0256>，他若找<04672><8799>不著你，就必殺<02026><8804>我；僕人<05650>卻是自幼<05271>敬畏<03372><8804>耶和華<03068>的。
[big5] 耶洗別殺耶和華眾先知的時候，我將耶和華的一百個先知藏了，每五十人藏在一個洞裡，拿餅和水供養他們，豈沒有人將這事告訴我主嗎？
[bbe] Has my lord not had word of what I did when Jezebel was putting the Lord's prophets to death? how I kept a hundred of them in a secret hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water?

[bbe] And now you say, Go and say to your Lord, Elijah is here; and he will put me to death.

[big5] 以利亞說：我指著所事奉永生的萬軍之耶和華起誓，我今日必使亞哈得見我。
[bbe] And Elijah said, By the life of the Lord of armies, whose servant I am, I will certainly let him see me today.

[big5] 於是俄巴底去迎著亞哈，告訴他；亞哈就去迎著以利亞。
[bbe] So Obadiah went to Ahab and gave him the news; and Ahab went to see Elijah.
[dunv] 於是俄巴底<05662>去<03212><8799>迎著<07125><8800>亞哈<0256>，告訴<05046><8686>他；亞哈<0256>就去<03212><8799>迎著<07125><8800>以利亞<0452>。
[big5] 亞哈見了以利亞，便說：使以色列遭災的就是你嗎？
[bbe] And when he saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, Is it you, you troubler of Israel?
[dunv] 亞哈<0256>見了<07200><8800>以利亞<0452>，{<0256>}便說<0559><8799>：使以色列<03478>遭災<05916><8802>的就是你麼？
[big5] 以利亞說：使以色列遭災的不是我，乃是你和你父家；因為你們離棄耶和華的誡命，去隨從巴力。
[bbe] Then he said in answer, I have not been troubling Israel, but you and your family; because, turning away from the orders of the Lord, you have gone after the Baals.
[dunv] 以利亞說<0559><8799>：使以色列<03478>遭災<05916><8804>的不是我，乃是你和你父<01>家<01004>；因為你們離棄<05800><8800>耶和華<03068>的誡命<04687>，去隨從<03212><8799><0310>巴力<01168>。
[big5] 現在你當差遣人，招聚以色列眾人和事奉巴力的那四百五十個先知，並耶洗別所供養事奉亞舍拉的那四百個先知，使他們都上迦密山去見我。
[bbe] Now send, and get Israel together before me at Mount Carmel, with the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal who get their food at Jezebel's table.
[dunv] 現在你當差遣<07971><8798>人，招聚<06908><8798>以色列眾人<03478>和事奉巴力<01168>的那四<0702>百<03967>五十個<02572>先知<05030>，並耶洗別<0348>{<07979>}所供養<0398><8802>事奉亞舍拉<0842>的那四<0702>百<03967>個先知<05030>，使他們都上迦密<03760>山<02022>去見我。
[big5] 亞哈就差遣人招聚以色列眾人和先知都上迦密山。
[bbe] So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and got the prophets together at Mount Carmel.
[dunv] 亞哈<0256>就差遣<07971><8799>人招聚<06908><8799>以色列<03478>眾人<01121>和先知<05030>都上迦密<03760>山<02022>。
[big5] 以利亞前來對眾民說：你們心持兩意要到幾時呢？若耶和華是神，就當順從耶和華；若巴力是神，就當順從巴力。眾民一言不答。
[bbe] And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go on balancing between two opinions? if the Lord is God, then give worship to him; but if Baal, give worship to him. And the people said not a word in answer.
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>前來<05066><8799>對眾民<05971>說<0559><8799>：你們心持<06452><8802>兩<08147>意<05587>要到幾時<05921>呢？若耶和華<03068>是神<0430>，就當順從耶和華；若巴力<01168>是神，就當順從<03212><8798><0310>巴力。眾民<05971>一言<01697>不答<06030><8804>。
[big5] 以利亞對眾民說：作耶和華先知的只剩下我一個人；巴力的先知卻有四百五十個人。
[bbe] Then Elijah said to the people, I, even I, am the only living prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>對眾民<05971>說<0559><8799>：作耶和華<03068>先知<05030>的只剩下<03498><8738>我一個人；巴力<01168>的先知<05030>卻有四<0702>百<03967>五十個<02572>人<0376>。
[big5] 當給我們兩隻牛犢，巴力的先知可以挑選一隻，切成塊子，放在柴上，不要點火；我也預備一隻牛犢放在柴上，也不點火。
[bbe] Now, let them give us two oxen; and let them take one for themselves, and have it cut up, and put it on the wood, but put no fire under it; I will get the other ox ready, and put it on the wood, and put no fire under it.
[dunv] 當給<05414><8799>我們兩隻<08147>牛犢<06499>，巴力的先知可以挑選<0977><8799>一隻<0259>{<06499>}，切成塊子<05408><8762>，放<07760><8799>在柴<06086>上，不要點<07760><8799>火<0784>；我也預備<06213><8799>一隻<0259>牛犢<06499>放<05414><8804>在柴<06086>上，也不點<07760><8799>火<0784>。
[big5] 你們求告你們神的名，我也求告耶和華的名。那降火顯應的神，就是神。眾民回答說：這話甚好。
[bbe] And do you make prayers to your god, and I will make a prayer to the Lord: and it will be clear that the one who gives an answer by fire is God. And all the people in answer said, It is well said.
[dunv] 你們求告<07121><8804>你們神<0430>的名<08034>，我也求告<07121><8799>耶和華<03068>的名<08034>。那降火<0784>顯應<06030><8799>的神<0430>，就是神<0430>。眾民<05971>回答<06030><8799>說<0559><8799>：這話<01697>甚好<02896>。
[big5] 以利亞對巴力的先知說：你們既是人多，當先挑選一隻牛犢，預備好了，就求告你們神的名，卻不要點火。
[bbe] Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Take one ox for yourselves and get it ready first, for there are more of you; and make your prayers to your god, but put no fire under.
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>對巴力<01168>的先知<05030>說<0559><8799>：你們既是人多，當先挑選<0977><8798>一隻<0259>牛犢<06499>，{<07223>}預備<06213><8798>好了{<07227>}，就求告<07121><8798>你們神<0430>的名<08034>，卻不要點<07760><8799>火<0784>。
[big5] 他們將所得的牛犢預備好了，從早晨到午間，求告巴力的名說：巴力啊，求你應允我們！卻沒有聲音，沒有應允的。他們在所築的壇四圍踊跳。
[bbe] So they took the ox which was given them, and made it ready, crying out to Baal from morning till the middle of the day, and saying, O Baal, give ear to us. But there was no voice and no answer. And they were jumping up and down before the altar they had made.
[dunv] 他們將所得<05414><8804>的牛犢<06499>{<03947>}{<8799>}預備<06213><8799>好了，從早晨<01242>到午間<06672>，求告<07121><8799>巴力<01168>的名<08034>說<0559><8800>：巴力<01168>啊，求你應允<06030><8798>我們！卻沒有<0369>聲音<06963>，沒有應允<06030><8802>的。他們在所築<06213><8804>的壇<04196>四圍踊跳<06452><8762>。
[big5] 到了正午，以利亞嬉笑他們，說：大聲求告吧！因為他是神，他或默想，或走到一邊，或行路，或睡覺，你們當叫醒他。
[bbe] And in the middle of the day, Elijah made sport of them, saying, Give louder cries, for he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or he may have gone away for some purpose, or he may be on a journey, or by chance he is sleeping and has to be made awake.
[dunv] 到了正午<06672>，以利亞<0452>嬉笑<02048><8762>他們，說<0559><8799>：大聲<01419><06963>求告<07121><8798>罷！因為他是神<0430>，他或默想<07879>，或走到一邊<07873>，或行路<01870>，或<0194>睡覺<03463>，你們當叫醒他<03364><8799>。
[big5] 他們大聲求告，按著他們的規矩，用刀槍自割、自刺，直到身體流血。
[bbe] So they gave loud cries, cutting themselves with knives and swords, as was their way, till the blood came streaming out all over them.
[dunv] 他們大聲<06963><01419>求告<07121><8799>，按著他們的規矩<04941>，用刀<02719>槍<07420>自割<01413><8704>、自刺，直到身體流<08210><8800>血<01818>。
[big5] 從午後直到獻晚祭的時候，他們狂呼亂叫，卻沒有聲音，沒有應允的，也沒有理會的。
[bbe] And from the middle of the day they went on with their prayers till the time of the offering; but there was no voice, or any answer, or any who gave attention to them.
[dunv] 從午<06672>後<05674><8800>直到獻<05927><8800>晚祭<04503>的時候，他們狂呼亂叫<05012><8691>，卻沒有聲音<06963>，沒有應允<06030><8802>的，也沒有理會<07182>的。
[big5] 以利亞對眾民說：你們到我這裡來。眾民就到他那裡。他便重修已經毀壞耶和華的壇。
[bbe] Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me; and all the people came near. And he put up again the altar of the Lord which had been broken down.
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>對眾民<05971>說<0559><8799>：你們到我這裡來<05066><8798>。眾民<05971>就到<05066><8799>他那裡。他便重修<07495><8762>已經毀壞<02040><8803>耶和華<03068>的壇<04196>。
[big5] 以利亞照雅各子孫支派的數目，取了十二塊石頭（耶和華的話曾臨到雅各說：你的名要叫以色列），
[bbe] And Elijah took twelve stones, the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the Lord had said, Israel will be your name:
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>照雅各<03290>{<07626>}子孫<01121>支派的數目<04557>，取了<03947><8799>十<06240>二塊<08147>石頭<068>（耶和華<03068>的話<01697>曾臨到雅各說<0559><8800>：你的名<08034>要叫以色列<03478>），
[big5] 用這些石頭為耶和華的名築一座壇，在壇的四圍挖溝，可容穀種二細亞，
[bbe] And with the stones he made an altar to the name of the Lord; and he made a deep drain all round the altar, great enough to take two measures of seed.
[dunv] 用這些石頭<068>為耶和華<03068>的名<08034>築<01129><8799>一座壇<04196>，在壇<04196>的四圍<05439>挖<06213><8799>溝<08585>，可容<01004>穀種<02233>二細亞<05429>，
[big5] 又在壇上擺好了柴，把牛犢切成塊子放在柴上，對眾人說：你們用四個桶盛滿水，倒在燔祭和柴上；
[bbe] And he put the wood in order, and, cutting up the ox, put it on the wood. Then he said, Get four vessels full of water and put it on the burned offering and on the wood. And he said, Do it a second time, and they did it a second time;
[dunv] 又在壇上擺好了<06186><8799>柴<06086>，把牛犢<06499>切<05408><8762>成塊子放<07760><8799>在柴<06086>上，對眾人說<0559><8799>：你們用四個<0702>桶<03537>盛滿<04390><8798>水<04325>，倒<03332><8798>在燔祭<05930>和柴<06086>上；
[big5] 又說：倒第二次。他們就倒第二次；又說：倒第三次。他們就倒第三次。
[bbe] And he said, Do it a third time, and they did it a third time.
[dunv] 又說<0559><8799>：倒第二次<08138><8798>。他們就倒第二次<08138><8799>；又說<0559><8799>：倒第三次<08027><8761>。他們就倒第三次<08027><8762>。
[big5] 水流在壇的四圍，溝裡也滿了水。
[bbe] And the water went all round the altar, till the drain was full.
[dunv] 水<04325>流<03212><8799>在壇<04196>的四圍<05439>，溝<08585>裡也滿了<04390><8765>水<04325>。
[big5] 到了獻晚祭的時候，先知以利亞近前來，說：亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，耶和華啊，求你今日使人知道你是以色列的神，也知道我是你的僕人，又是奉你的命行這一切事。
[bbe] Then at the time of the offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Lord, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be seen this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things by your order.
[dunv] 到了獻<05927><8800>晚祭<04503>的時候，先知<05030>以利亞<0452>近前來<05066><8799>，說<0559><8799>：亞伯拉罕<085>、以撒<03327>、以色列<03478>的神<0430>，耶和華<03068>啊，求你今日<03117>使人知道<03045><8735>你是以色列<03478>的神<0430>，也知道我是你的僕人<05650>，又是奉你的命<01697>行<06213><8804>這一切事。
[big5] 耶和華啊，求你應允我，應允我！使這民知道你─耶和華是神，又知道是你叫這民的心回轉。
[bbe] Give me an answer, O Lord, give me an answer, so that this people may see that you are God, and that you have made their hearts come back again.
[dunv] 耶和華<03068>啊，求你應允<06030><8798>我，應允<06030><8798>我！使這民<05971>知道<03045><8799>你─耶和華<03068>是神<0430>，又知道是你叫這民的心<03820>回轉<05437><8689><0322>。
[big5] 於是，耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾溝裡的水。
[bbe] Then the fire of the Lord came down, burning up the offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and drinking up the water in the drain.
[dunv] 於是，耶和華<03068>降下<05307><8799>火<0784>來，燒盡<0398><8799>燔祭<05930>、木柴<06086>、石頭<068>、塵土<06083>，又燒乾<03897><8765>溝<08585>裡的水<04325>。
[big5] 眾民看見了，就俯伏在地，說：耶和華是神！耶和華是神！
[bbe] And when the people saw it, they all went down on their faces, and said, The Lord, he is God, the Lord, he is God.
[dunv] 眾民<05971>看見了<07200><8799>，{<06440>}就俯伏<05307><8799>在地，說<0559><8799>：耶和華<03068>是神<0430>！耶和華<03068>是神<0430>！
[big5] 以利亞對他們說：拿住巴力的先知，不容一人逃脫！眾人就拿住他們。以利亞帶他們到基順河邊，在那裡殺了他們。
[bbe] And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not one of them get away. So they took them, and Elijah made them go down to the stream Kishon, and put them to death there.
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>對他們說<0559><8799>：拿住<08610><8798>巴力<01168>的先知<05030>，不容一人<0376>逃脫<04422><8735>！眾人就拿住<08610><8799>他們。以利亞<0452>帶<03381><8686>他們到基順<07028>河<05158>邊，在那裡殺了<07819><8799>他們。
[big5] 以利亞對亞哈說：你現在可以上去吃喝，因為有多雨的響聲了。
[bbe] Then Elijah said to Ahab, Up! take food and drink, for there is a sound of much rain.
[dunv] 以利亞<0452>對亞哈<0256>說<0559><8799>：你現在可以上去<05927><8798>吃<0398><8798>喝<08354><8798>，因為有多<01995>雨<01653>的響聲<06963>了。
[big5] 亞哈就上去吃喝。以利亞上了迦密山頂，屈身在地，將臉伏在兩膝之中；
[bbe] So Ahab went up to have food and drink, while Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he went down on the earth, putting his face between his knees.
[dunv] 亞哈<0256>就上去<05927><8799>吃<0398><8800>喝<08354><8800>。以利亞<0452>上了<05927><8804>迦密山<03760>頂<07218>，屈身<01457><8799>在地<0776>，將臉<06440>伏<07760><8799>在兩膝<01290>之中；
[big5] 對僕人說：你上去，向海觀看。僕人就上去觀看，說：沒有什麼。他說：你再去觀看。如此七次。
[bbe] And he said to his servant, Go now, and take a look in the direction of the sea. And he went up, and after looking said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times; and he went seven times.
[dunv] 對僕人<05288>說<0559><8799>：你上去<05927><8798>，向<01870>海<03220>觀看<05027><8685>。僕人就上去<05927><8799>觀看<05027><8686>，說<0559><8799>：沒有甚麼<03972>。他說<0559><8799>：你再去<07725><8798>觀看。如此七<07651>次<06471>。
[big5] 第七次僕人說：我看見有一小片雲從海裡上來，不過如人手那樣大。以利亞說：你上去告訴亞哈，當套車下去，免得被雨阻擋。
[bbe] And the seventh time he said, I see a cloud coming up out of the sea, as small as a man's hand. Then he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Get your carriage ready and go down or the rain will keep you back.
[dunv] 第七次<07637>僕人說<0559><8799>：我看見有一小片<06996>雲<05645>從海<03220>裡上來<05927><8802>，不過如人<0376>手<03709>那樣大。以利亞說<0559><8799>：你上去<05927><8798>告訴<0559><8798>亞哈<0256>，當套<0631><8798>車下去<03381><8798>，免得被雨<01653>阻擋<06113><8799>。
[big5] 霎時間，天因風雲黑暗，降下大雨。亞哈就坐車往耶斯列去了。
[bbe] And after a very little time, the heaven became black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab went in his carriage to Jezreel.
