[bbe] And when we were safe, we made the discovery that the island was named Melita.

[big5] 土人看待我們，有非常的情分；因為當時下雨，天氣又冷，就生火接待我們眾人。
[bbe] And the simple people living there were uncommonly kind to us, for they made a fire for us, and took us in, because it was raining and cold.
[dunv] {<1161>}土人<915>看待<3930><5707>我們<2254>，有<5177><5631>非常{<3756>}的情分<5363>；因為<1223>當時下<2186><5761>雨<5205>，{<2532>}{<1223>}天氣又冷<5592>，就<1063>生<381><5660>火<4443>接待<4355><5639>我們<2248>眾人<3956>。
[big5] 那時，保羅拾起一捆柴，放在火上，有一條毒蛇，因為熱了出來，咬住他的手。
[bbe] But when Paul had got some sticks together and put them on the fire, a snake came out, because of the heat, and gave him a bite on the hand.
[dunv] 那時<1161>，保羅<3972>拾起<3972>一捆<4128>柴<5434>，{<2532>}放在<2007><5631>火<4443>上<1909>，有一條毒蛇<2191>，因為<1537>熱<2329>了出來<1831><5631>，咬住<2510><5656>他<846>的手<5495>。
[big5] 土人看見那毒蛇懸在他手上，就彼此說：這人必是個兇手，雖然從海裡救上來，天理還不容他活著。
[bbe] And when the people saw it hanging on his hand, they said to one another, Without doubt this man has put someone to death, and though he has got safely away from the sea, God will not let him go on living.
[dunv] {<1161>}{<5613>}土人<915>看見<1492><5627>那毒蛇<2342>懸在<2910><5734>他<846>手<5495>上<1537>，就彼此<4314><240>說<3004><5707>：這<3778>人<444>必<3843>是<2076><5748>個兇手<5406>，雖然從<1537>海<2281>裡救上來<1295><5685>，天理<1349>還不<3756>容<1439><5656>他<3739>活著<2198><5721>。
[big5] 保羅竟把那毒蛇甩在火裡，並沒有受傷。
[bbe] But shaking off the beast into the fire, he got no damage.
[dunv] {<3767>}保羅竟<3303>把那毒蛇<2342>甩<660><5660>在<1519>火<4442>裡，並沒<3762>有受<3958><5627>傷<2556>。
[big5] 土人想他必要腫起來，或是忽然仆倒死了；看了多時，見他無害，就轉念，說：他是個神。
[bbe] But they had the idea that they would see him becoming ill, or suddenly falling down dead; but after waiting a long time, and seeing that no damage came to him, changing their opinion, they said he was a god.
[dunv] {<1161>}土人想<4328><5707>他<846>必<3195><5721>要腫<4092><5745>起來，或<2228>是忽然<869>仆倒<2667><5721>死<3498>了；{<1161>}{<846>}看<4328><5723>了<1909>多時<4183>，{<2532>}見<2334><5723>他無<3367>害<824>，{<1096>}{<5740>}{<1519>}{<846>}就轉念<3328><5734>，說<3004><5707>：他<846>是<1511><5750>個神<2316>。
[big5] 離那地方不遠，有田產是島長部百流的；他接納我們，盡情款待三日。
[bbe] Now near that place there was some land, the property of the chief man of the island, who was named Publius; who very kindly took us into his house as his guests for three days.
[dunv] {<1161>}離<1722><4012>那<1565>地方<5117>不遠，有<5225><5707>田產<5564>是<3686>島<3520>長<4413>部百流<4196>的；他{<3739>}接納<324><5666>我們<2248>，盡情<5390>款待<3579><5656>三<5140>日<2250>。
[big5] 當時，部百流的父親患熱病和痢疾躺著。保羅進去，為他禱告，按手在他身上，治好了他。
[bbe] And the father of Publius was ill, with a disease of the stomach; to whom Paul went, and put his hands on him, with prayer, and made him well.

[big5] 從此，島上其餘的病人也來，得了醫治。
[bbe] And when this took place, all the others in the island who had diseases came and were made well.
[dunv] 從此<3767>，{<5127>}{<1096>}{<5637>}島<3520>上<3520>其餘的<3062>{<3588>}{<2192>}{<5723>}病人<769>也<2532>來<4334><5711>，{<2532>}得了醫治<2323><5712>。
[big5] 他們又多方的尊敬我們；到了開船的時候，也把我們所需用的送到船上。
[bbe] Then they gave us great honour, and, when we went away, they put into the ship whatever things we were in need of.
[dunv] 他們{<3739>}又<2532>多<4183>方{<5091>}{<5656>}的尊敬<5092>我們<2248>；{<2532>}到了開船<321><5746>的時候，也把我們所需用<5532>的送<2007><5639>到<4314>船上。
[big5] 過了三個月，我們上了亞力山大的船往前行；這船以丟斯雙子為記，是在那海島過了冬的。
[bbe] And after three months we went to sea in a ship of Alexandria sailing under the sign of the Dioscuri, which had been at the island for the winter.
[dunv] {<1161>}過了<3326>三<5140>個月<3376>，我們上了<321><5681>亞力山大<222>的{<1722>}船<4143>往前行；這船以丟斯雙子{<1359>}為記<3902>，是在<1722>那海島<3520>過了冬<3914><5761>的。
[big5] 到了敘拉古，我們停泊三日；
[bbe] And going into the harbour at Syracuse, we were waiting there for three days.
[dunv] {<2532>}到了<2609><5685>{<1519>}敘拉古<4946>，我們停泊<1961><5656>三<5140>日<2250>；
[big5] 又從那裡繞行，來到利基翁。過了一天，起了南風，第二天就來到部丟利。
[bbe] And from there, going about in a curve, we came to Rhegium: and after one day a south wind came up and on the day after we came to Puteoli:

[bbe] Where we came across some of the brothers, who kept us with them for seven days; and so we came to Rome.

[bbe] And the brothers, when they had news of us, came out from town as far as Appii Forum and the Three Taverns to have a meeting with us: and Paul, seeing them, gave praise to God and took heart.

[bbe] And when we came into Rome, they let Paul have a house for himself and the armed man who kept watch over him.

[big5] 過了三天，保羅請猶太人的首領來。他們來了，就對他們說：弟兄們，我雖沒有做什麼事干犯本國的百姓和我們祖宗的規條，卻被鎖綁，從耶路撒冷解在羅馬人的手裡。
[bbe] Then after three days he sent for the chief men of the Jews: and when they had come together, he said to them, My brothers, though I had done nothing against the people or the ways of our fathers, I was given, a prisoner from Jerusalem, into the hands of the Romans.

[big5] 他們審問了我，就願意釋放我；因為在我身上，並沒有該死的罪。
[bbe] Who, when they had put questions to me, were ready to let me go free, because there was no cause of death in me.
[dunv] 他們<3748>審問了<350><5660>我<3165>，就願意<1014><5711>釋放<630><5658>我；因為<1223>在<1722>我<1698>身上，並沒<3367>有<5225><5721>該死<2288>的罪<156>。罪。
[big5] 無奈猶太人不服，我不得已，只好上告於該撒，並非有什麼事要控告我本國的百姓。
[bbe] But when the Jews made protest against it, I had to put my cause into Caesar's hands; not because I have anything to say against my nation.
[dunv] 無奈<1161>猶太人<2453>不服<483><5723>，我不得已，只好<315><5681>上告<1941><5670>於該撒<2541>，並非<3756>{<5613>}有<2192><5723>甚麼事要<5100>控告<2723><5658>我<3450>本國<1484>的百姓。
[big5] 因此，我請你們來見面說話，我原為以色列人所指望的，被這鍊子捆鎖。
[bbe] But for this reason I sent for you, to see and have talk with you: for because of the hope of Israel I am in these chains.
[dunv] 因<1223>此<5026>，{<156>}{<3767>}我請<3870><5656>你們<5209>來見面<1492><5629>說話<4354><5658>，{<2532>}我原<1752>為<1063>以色列人<2474>所指望<1680>的，被這<5026>鍊子<254>捆鎖<4029><5736>。
[big5] 他們說：我們並沒有接著從猶太來論你的信，也沒有弟兄到這裡來報給我們說你有什麼不好處。
[bbe] And they said to him, We have not had letters from Judaea about you, and no one of the brothers has come to us here to give an account or say any evil about you.
[dunv] {<1161>}{<4314>}他們<846>說<2036><5627>：我們<2249>並<3777>沒有接著<1209><5662>從<575>猶太<2449>來論<4012>你<4675>的信<1121>，也沒<3777>有<5100>弟兄<80>到<3854><5637>這裡來報給<518><5656>{<2228>}我們說<2980><5656>{<4012>}你<4675>有甚麼<5100>不好處<4190>。
[big5] 但我們願意聽你的意見如何；因為這教門，我們曉得是到處被毀謗的。
[bbe] But we have a desire to give hearing to your opinion: for as to this form of religion, we have knowledge that in all places it is attacked.
[dunv] 但<1161>我們願意<515><5719>聽<191><5658>{<3844>}你<4675>的意見<5426><5719>如何<3739>；因為<1063>{<4012>}{<3303>}這<5026>教門<139>，我們<2254>曉得<2076><5748><1110>是<3754>到處<3837>被毀謗<483><5743>的。
[big5] 他們和保羅約定了日子，就有許多人到他的寓處來。保羅從早到晚，對他們講論這事，證明神國的道，引摩西的律法和先知的書，以耶穌的事勸勉他們。
[bbe] And when a day had been fixed, they came to his house in great numbers; and he gave them teaching, giving witness to the kingdom of God, and having discussions with them about Jesus, from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning till evening.

[bbe] And some were in agreement with what he said, but some had doubts.

[big5] 他們彼此不合，就散了；未散以先，保羅說了一句話，說：聖靈藉先知以賽亞向你們祖宗所說的話是不錯的。
[bbe] And they went away, for there was a division among them after Paul had said this one thing: Well did the Holy Spirit say by the prophet Isaiah to your fathers,

[big5] 他說：你去告訴這百姓說：你們聽是要聽見，卻不明白；看是要看見，卻不曉得；
[bbe] Go to this people and say, Though you give ear, you will not get knowledge; and seeing, you will see, but the sense will not be clear to you:
[dunv] 他說<3004><5723>：你去<4198><5676>{<4314>}告訴這<5126>百姓<2992>說<2036><5628>：{<2532>}你們聽<189>是要聽見<191><5692>，卻<2532>不<3364>明白<4920><5655>；{<2532>}看<991><5723>是要看見<991><5692>，卻<2532>不<3364>曉得<1492><5632>；
[big5] 因為這百姓油蒙了心，耳朵發沉，眼睛閉著；恐怕眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就醫治他們。
[bbe] For the heart of this people has become fat and their ears are slow in hearing and their eyes are shut; for fear that they might see with their eyes and give hearing with their ears and become wise in their hearts and be turned again to me, so that I might make them well.
[dunv] 因為<1063>這<5127>百姓<2992>油蒙了<3975><5681>心<2588>，{<2532>}耳朵<3775>發{<191>}{<5656>}沉<917>，{<2532>}{<846>}眼睛<3788>閉著<2576><5656>；恐怕<3379>眼睛<3788>看見<1492><5632>，{<2532>}耳朵<3775>聽見<191><5661>，{<2532>}心<2588>裡明白<4920><5632>，{<2532>}回轉<1994><5661>過來，{<2532>}我就醫治<2390><5667>他們<846>。
[big5] 所以你們當知道，神這救恩，如今傳給外邦人，他們也必聽受。（有古卷在此有：
[bbe] Be certain, then, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will give hearing.
[dunv] 所以<3767>你們<5213>當<2077><5749>知道<1110>，{<3754>}神<2316>這救恩<4992>，如今傳給<649><5648>外邦人<1484>，他們也<2532>必聽受<191><5695>{<846>}。（有古卷在此有：

[big5] 保羅在自己所租的房子裡住了足足兩年。凡來見他的人，他全都接待，
[bbe] And for the space of two years, Paul was living in the house of which he had the use, and had talk with all those who went in to see him,

[bbe] Preaching the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ without fear, and no orders were given that he was not to do so.
