[bbe] Now when they had gone through Amphipolis and Apollonia they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Synagogue of the Jews:

[bbe] And Paul, as he generally did, went in to them, and on three Sabbath days had discussions with them from the holy Writings,

[bbe] Saying to them clearly and openly that Christ had to be put to death and come back to life again; and that this Jesus, whom, he said, I am preaching to you, is the Christ.
[dunv] 講解<1272><5723>{<2532>}陳明<3908><5734>{<3754>}基督<5547>必須<1163><5713>受害<3958><5629>，{<2532>}從<1537>死裡<3498>復活<450><5629>；又<2532>說{<3754>}：{<3739>}我<1473>所傳<2605><5719>與你們<5213>的這位<3778>耶穌<2424>就是<2076><5748>基督<5547>。
[big5] 他們中間有些人聽了勸，就附從保羅和西拉，並有許多虔敬的希利尼人，尊貴的婦女也不少。
[bbe] And some of them had faith, and were joined to Paul and Silas; and a number of the God-fearing Greeks, and some of the chief women.

[big5] 但那不信的猶太人心裡嫉妒，招聚了些市井匪類，搭夥成群，聳動合城的人闖進耶孫的家，要將保羅、西拉帶到百姓那裡。
[bbe] But the Jews, being moved with envy, took with them certain low persons from among the common people, and getting together a great number of people, made an outcry in the town, attacking the house of Jason with the purpose of taking them out to the people.
[dunv] 但<1161>那不信的<544><5723>猶太人<2453>心裡嫉妒<2206><5660>，{<2532>}招聚了<4355><5642>些<5100>市井匪類<4190><435><60>，{<2532>}搭夥成群<3792><5660>，聳動<2350><5707>合城<4172>的人{<5037>}闖進<2186><5631>耶孫<2394>的家<3614>，要將<2212><5707>保羅、西拉{<846>}帶<71><5629>到<1519>百姓<1218>那裡。
[big5] 找不著他們，就把耶孫和幾個弟兄拉到地方官那裡，喊叫說：那攪亂天下的也到這裡來了，
[bbe] And when they were not able to get them, they took Jason and some of the brothers by force before the rulers of the town, crying, These men, who have made trouble all over the world have now come here;

[bbe] Whom Jason has taken into his house: and they are acting against the orders of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.

[bbe] And hearing these things the people and the rulers of the town were troubled.

[big5] 於是取了耶孫和其餘之人的保狀，就釋放了他們。
[bbe] And having made Jason and the others give an undertaking to keep the peace, they let them go.

[big5] 弟兄們隨即在夜間打發保羅和西拉往庇哩亞去。二人到了，就進入猶太人的會堂。
[bbe] And the brothers straight away sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea: and they, when they came there, went to the Synagogue of the Jews.

[big5] 這地方的人賢於帖撒羅尼迦的人，甘心領受這道，天天考查聖經，要曉得這道是與不是。
[bbe] Now these were more noble than the Jews of Thessalonica, for they gave serious attention to the word, searching in the holy Writings every day, to see if these things were so.
[dunv] {<1161>}這地方的人<3778>{<2258>}{<5713>}賢於<2104>{<1722>}帖撒羅尼迦<2332>的人，{<3748>}甘心<3326><3956><4288>領受<1209><5662>這道<3056>，天天<2250><2596>考查<350><5723>聖經<1124>，要曉得這道<5023>是<2192><5722><3779>與不是<1487>。
[big5] 所以他們中間多有相信的，又有希利尼尊貴的婦女，男子也不少。
[bbe] And a number of them had faith, and no small number of the Greek women of high position and of the men.
[dunv] 所以<3767><3303>他們<846>中間<1537>多<4183>有相信的<4100><5656>，又<2532>有{<3588>}希利尼<1674>尊貴的<2158>婦女<1135>，男子<435>也<2532>不<3756>少<3641>。
[big5] 但帖撒羅尼迦的猶太人知道保羅又在庇哩亞傳神的道，也就往那裡去，聳動攪擾眾人。
[bbe] But when the Jews of Thessalonica had news that Paul was preaching the word at Beroea, they came there, troubling the people and working them up.
[dunv] 但<1161>{<5613>}帖撒羅尼迦<2332>的<575>猶太人<2453>知道<1097><5627>{<3754>}{<5259>}保羅<3972>又<2532>在<1722>庇哩亞<960>傳<2605><5648>神<2316>的道<3056>，也就往那裡<2546>去<2064><5627>，聳動攪擾<4531><5723>眾人<3793>。
[big5] 當時弟兄們便打發保羅往海邊去，西拉和提摩太仍住在庇哩亞。
[bbe] So the brothers sent Paul straight away to the sea: but Silas and Timothy kept there still.

[bbe] But those who went with Paul took him as far as Athens, and then went away, with orders from him to Silas and Timothy to come to him quickly.

[big5] 保羅在雅典等候他們的時候，看見滿城都是偶像，就心裡著急；
[bbe] Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was troubled, for he saw all the town full of images of the gods.
[dunv] {<1161>}保羅<3972>在<1722>雅典<116>等候<1551><5740>他們<846>的時候，看見<2334><5723>滿城<4172>都是<5607><5752>偶像<2712>，{<846>}就心裡<4151><1722><846>著急<3947><5712>；
[big5] 於是在會堂裡與猶太人和虔敬的人，並每日在市上所遇見的人，辯論。
[bbe] So he had discussions in the Synagogue with the Jews and God-fearing Gentiles, and every day in the market-place with those who were there.
[dunv] 於是<3767><3303>在<1722>會堂裡<4864>與猶太人<2453>和<2532>虔敬的人<4576><5740>，並<2532>每日<2596><3956><2250>在<1722>市上<58>所遇見<4314><3909><5723>的人，辯論<1256><5711>。
[big5] 還有以彼古羅和斯多亞兩門的學士，與他爭論。有的說：這胡言亂語的要說什麼？有的說：他似乎是傳說外邦鬼神的。這話是因保羅傳講耶穌與復活的道。
[bbe] And some of those who were supporters of the theories of the Epicureans and the Stoics, had a meeting with him. And some said, What is this talker of foolish words saying? And others, He seems to be a preacher of strange gods: because he was preaching of Jesus and his coming back from the dead.
[dunv] {<1161>}還有<5100>以彼古羅<1946>和<2532>斯多亞<4770>兩門的學士<5386>，與他<846>爭論<4820><5707>。{<2532>}有的<5100>說<3004><5707>：這<3778>胡言亂語的<4691>{<302>}要<2309><5722>說<3004><5721>甚麼<5101>？{<1161>}有的說：他似乎<1380><5719>是<1511><5750>傳說<2604>外邦<3581>鬼神<1140>的。這話是因<3754>保羅{<846>}傳講<2097><5710>耶穌<2424>與<2532>復活<386>的道。
[big5] 他們就把他帶到亞略巴古，說：你所講的這新道，我們也可以知道嗎？
[bbe] And they took him to Mars' Hill, saying, Will you make clear to us what is this new teaching of yours?
[dunv] 他們就<5037>把<1949><5637>他<846>帶<71><5627>到<1909>亞略巴古<697>，說<3004><5723>：{<5101>}{<5259>}你<4675>所講<2980><5746>的這<3778>新<2537>道<1322>，我們也可以<1410><5736>知道<1097><5629>麼？
[big5] 因為你有些奇怪的事傳到我們耳中，我們願意知道這些事是什麼意思。
[bbe] For you seem to us to say strange things, and we have a desire to get the sense of them.
[dunv] 因為<1063>你有些<5100>奇怪的事<3579><5723>傳<1533><5719>到<1519>我們<2257>耳中<189>，{<3767>}我們願意<1014><5736>知道<1097><5629>這些事<5023>是甚麼<5101>意思<302><2309><5722><1511><5750>。
[big5] （雅典人和住在那裡的客人都不顧別的事，只將新聞說說聽聽。）
[bbe] (Now all the Athenians and the men from other lands who come there were giving all their time to talking or hearing of anything new.)

[big5] 保羅站在亞略巴古當中，說：眾位雅典人哪，我看你們凡事很敬畏鬼神。
[bbe] And Paul got to his feet on Mars' Hill and said, O men of Athens, I see that you are overmuch given to fear of the gods.
[dunv] {<1161>}保羅<3972>站<2476><5685>在<1722>亞略巴古<697>當中<3319>，說<5346><5713>：眾位<435>雅典人<117>哪，我看<2334><5719>{<5613>}你們<5209>凡事<2596><3956>很敬畏鬼神<1174>。
[big5] 我遊行的時候，觀看你們所敬拜的，遇見一座壇，上面寫著未識之神。你們所不認識而敬拜的，我現在告訴你們。
[bbe] For when I came by, I was looking at the things to which you give worship, and I saw an altar with this writing on it, TO THE GOD OF WHOM THERE IS NO KNOWLEDGE. Now, what you, without knowledge, give worship to, I make clear to you.
[dunv] {<1063>}我遊行<1330><5740>的時候，{<2532>}觀看<333><5723>你們<5216>所敬拜的<4574>，{<2532>}遇見<2147><5627>一座壇<1041>，上面<1722><3739>寫著<1924><5718>未識<57>之神<2316>。{<3739>}你們所不認識<50><5723>而敬拜<2151><5719>的{<5126>}，我<1473>現在<3767>告訴<2605><5719>你們<5213>。
[big5] 創造宇宙和其中萬物的神，既是天地的主，就不住人手所造的殿，
[bbe] The God who made the earth and everything in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, is not housed in buildings made with hands;
[dunv] 創造<4160><5660>宇宙<2889>和<2532>其中<1722><846>萬物<3956>的神<2316>，{<3778>}既是<5225><5723>天<3772>{<2532>}地<1093>的主<2962>，就不<3756>住<2730><5719>{<1722>}人手<5499>所造的殿<3485>，
[big5] 也不用人手服事，好像缺少什麼；自己倒將生命、氣息、萬物，賜給萬人。
[bbe] And he is not dependent on the work of men's hands, as if he had need of anything, for he himself gives to all life and breath and all things;
[dunv] 也不<3761>用<5259>人<444>手<5495>服事<2323><5743>，好像缺少<4326><5740>甚麼<5100>；自己<846>倒將生命<2222>、{<2532>}氣息<4157>、{<2596>}萬物<3956>，賜給<1325><5723>萬人<3956>。
[big5] 他從一本（有古卷作血脈）造出萬族的人，住在全地上，並且預先定準他們的年限和所住的疆界，
[bbe] And he has made of one blood all the nations of men living on all the face of the earth, ordering their times and the limits of their lands,
[dunv] {<5037>}他從<1537>一<1520>本（有古卷作血脈<129>）造出<4160><5656>萬<3956>族<1484>的人<444>，住<2730><5721>在<1909>全<3956>地<1093>上<4383>，並且預先<4384><5772>定準<3724><5660>他們的<846>年限<2540>和<2532>所住<2733>的疆界<3734>，
[big5] 要叫他們尋求神，或者可以揣摩而得，其實他離我們各人不遠；
[bbe] So that they might make search for God, in order, if possible, to get knowledge of him and make discovery of him, though he is not far from every one of us:
[dunv] 要叫他們尋求<2212><5721>神{<2962>}，或者<1487>可以<686>揣摩<5584><5659>{<846>}而<2532>得<2147><5630>，其實<2544>他離<5225><5723><575>我們<2257>各<1538>人<1520>不<3756>遠<3112>；
[big5] 我們生活、動作、存留，都在乎他。就如你們作詩的，有人說：我們也是他所生的。
[bbe] For in him we have life and motion and existence; as certain of your verse writers have said, For we are his offspring.
[dunv] {<1063>}我們生活<2198><5719>、{<2532>}動作<2795><5743>、{<2532>}存留<2070><5748>，都在乎<1722>他<846>。就<2532>如<5613>{<5100>}你們<5209><2596>作詩<4163>的，有人說<2046><5758>：{<1063>}我們也<2532>是<2070><5748>他<5120>所生的<1085>。
[big5] 我們既是神所生的，就不當以為神的神性像人用手藝、心思所雕刻的金、銀、石。
[bbe] If then we are the offspring of God, it is not right for us to have the idea that God is like gold or silver or stone, formed by the art or design of man.
[dunv] 我們既<3767>是<5225><5723>神<2316>所生的<3767>，就不<3756>當<3784><5719>以為<3543><5721>神的神性<2304>{<1511>}{<5750>}像<3664>人<444>用手藝<5078>、{<2532>}心思<1761>所雕刻<5480>的金<5557>、{<2228>}銀<696>、{<2228>}石<3037>。
[big5] 世人蒙昧無知的時候，神並不監察，如今卻吩咐各處的人都要悔改。
[bbe] Those times when men had no knowledge were overlooked by God; but now he gives orders to all men in every place to undergo a change of heart:
[dunv] {<3303>}{<3767>}世人蒙昧無知<52>的時候<5550>，神<2316>並不監察<5237><5660>，如今卻<3569>吩咐<3853><5719>各處的<3837>人<444>都<3956>要悔改<3340><5721>。
[big5] 因為他已經定了日子，要藉著他所設立的人按公義審判天下，並且叫他從死裡復活，給萬人作可信的憑據。
[bbe] Because a day has been fixed in which all the world will be judged in righteousness by the man who has been marked out by him for this work; of which he has given a sign to all men by giving him back from the dead.
[dunv] 因為<1360>他已經定了<2476><5656>日子<2250>，{<1722>}{<3739>}要<3195><5719>藉著<1722>{<3739>}他所設立<3724><5656>的人<435>按<1722>公義<1343>審判<2919><5721>天下<3625>，並且叫他<846>從<1537>死裡<3498>復活<450><5660>，給<3930><5631>萬人<3956>作可信的憑據<4102>。
[big5] 眾人聽見從死裡復活的話，就有譏誚他的；又有人說：我們再聽你講這個吧！
[bbe] Now on hearing about the coming back from death, some of them made sport of it, but others said, Let us go more fully into this another time.
[dunv] {<1161>}眾人聽見<191><5660>從死裡<3498>復活<386>的話，就有<3303>譏誚<5512><5707>他的；又<1161>有人說<2036><5627>：我們再<3825>聽<191><5695>你<4675>講{<4012>}這個<5127>罷！
[big5] 於是保羅從他們當中出去了。
[bbe] And so Paul went away from among them.

[big5] 但有幾個人貼近他，信了主，其中有亞略巴古的官丟尼修，並一個婦人，名叫大馬哩，還有別人一同信從。
[bbe] But some men gave him their support: among whom was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
[dunv] 但<1161>有幾個<5100>人<435>貼近<2853><5685>他<846>，信<4100><5656>了主，{<2532>}其中<1722><3739>有亞略巴古的官<698>丟尼修<1354>，並<2532>一個婦人<1135>，名叫<3686>大馬哩<1152>，還有<2532>別人<2087>一同<4862>{<846>}信從。
