[bbe] Now it came to the ears of Jacob that Laban's sons were saying, Jacob has taken away all our father's property, and in this way he has got all this wealth.

[bbe] And Jacob saw that Laban's feeling for him was no longer what it had been before.

[big5] 耶和華對雅各說：你要回你祖、你父之地，到你親族那裡去，我必與你同在。
[bbe] Then the Lord said to Jacob, Go back to the land of your fathers, and to your relations, and I will be with you.

[bbe] And Jacob sent for Rachel and Leah to come to him in the field among his flock.

[bbe] And he said to them, It is clear to me that your father's feeling is no longer what it was to me; but the God of my father has been with me

[bbe] And you have seen how I have done all in my power for your father,

[big5] 你們的父親欺哄我，十次改了我的工價；然而神不容他害我。
[bbe] But your father has not kept faith with me, and ten times he has made changes in my payment; but God has kept him from doing me damage.

[bbe] If he said, All those in the flock which have marks are to be yours, then all the flock gave birth to marked young; and if he said, All the banded ones are to be yours, then all the flock had banded young.

[bbe] So God has taken away your father's cattle and has given them to me.

[big5] 羊配合的時候，我夢中舉目一看，見跳母羊的公羊都是有紋的、有點的、有花斑的。
[bbe] And at the time when the flock were with young, I saw in a dream that all the he-goats which were joined with the she-goats were banded and marked and coloured.

[bbe] And in my dream the angel of the Lord said to me, Jacob: and I said, Here am I.

[bbe] And he said, See how all the he-goats are banded and marked and coloured: for I have seen what Laban has done to you.

[bbe] I am the God of Beth-el, where you put oil on the pillar and took an oath to me: now then, come out of this land and go back to the country of your birth.

[bbe] Then Rachel and Leah said to him in answer, What part or heritage is there for us in our father's house?

[bbe] Are we not as people from a strange country to him? for he took a price for us and now it is all used up.

[bbe] For the wealth which God has taken from him is ours and our children's; so now, whatever God has said to you, do.

[bbe] Then Jacob put his wives and his sons on camels;

[bbe] And sending on before him all his cattle and his property which he had got together in Paddan-aram, he made ready to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

[bbe] Now Laban had gone to see to the cutting of the wool of his sheep; so Rachel secretly took the images of the gods of her father's house.

[bbe] And Jacob went away secretly, without giving news of his flight to Laban the Aramaean.

[bbe] So he went away with all he had, and went across the River in the direction of the hill-country of Gilead.

[bbe] And on the third day Laban had news of Jacob's flight.

[bbe] And taking the men of his family with him, he went after him for seven days and overtook him in the hill-country of Gilead.

[bbe] Then God came to Laban in a dream by night, and said to him, Take care that you say nothing good or bad to Jacob.

[bbe] Now when Laban overtook him, Jacob had put up his tent in the hill-country; and Laban and his brothers put up their tents in the hill-country of Gilead.

[bbe] And Laban said to Jacob, Why did you go away secretly, taking my daughters away like prisoners of war?
[dunv] 拉班<03837>對雅各<03290>說<0559><8799>：你做的<06213><8804>是甚麼事呢？你背著<03824>我偷走了<01589><8799>，又把我的女兒們<01323>帶了去<05090><8762>，如同用刀劍<02719>擄去的<07617><8803>一般。
[big5] 你為什麼暗暗地逃跑，偷著走，並不告訴我，叫我可以歡樂、唱歌、擊鼓、彈琴的送你回去？
[bbe] Why did you make a secret of your flight, not giving me word of it, so that I might have sent you away with joy and songs, with melody and music?
[dunv] 你為甚麼暗暗<02244><8738>地逃跑<01272><8800>，偷著<01589><8799>走，並不告訴<05046><8689>我，叫我可以歡樂<08057>、唱歌<07892>、擊鼓<08596>、彈琴<03658>的送你回去<07971><8762>？
[big5] 又不容我與外孫和女兒親嘴？你所行的真是愚昧！
[bbe] You did not even let me give a kiss to my sons and my daughters. This was a foolish thing to do.
[dunv] 又不容<05203><8804>我與外孫<01121>和女兒<01323>親嘴<05401><8763>？你所行<06213><8800>的真是愚昧<05528><8689>！
[big5] 我手中原有能力害你，只是你父親的神昨夜對我說：你要小心，不可與雅各說好說歹。
[bbe] It is in my power to do you damage: but the God of your father came to me this night, saying, Take care that you say nothing good or bad to Jacob.
[dunv] 我手<03027>中原有<03426>能力<0410>{<06213>}{<8800>}害<07451>你，只是你父親<01>的神<0430>昨夜<0570>對{<0559>}{<8800>}我說<0559><8804>：你要小心<08104><8734>，不可與雅各<03290>說<01696><8763>好<02896>說歹<07451>。
[big5] 現在你雖然想你父家，不得不去，為什麼又偷了我的神像呢？
[bbe] And now, it seems, you are going because your heart's desire is for your father's house; but why have you taken my gods?
[dunv] 現在你雖然想<03700><8736><03700><8738>你父<01>家<01004>，不得不<01980><8800>去<01980><8804>，為甚麼又偷了<01589><8804>我的神像<0430>呢？
[big5] 雅各回答拉班說：恐怕你把你的女兒從我奪去，所以我逃跑。
[bbe] And Jacob, in answer, said to Laban, My fear was that you might take your daughters from me by force.
[dunv] 雅各<03290>回答<06030><8799>拉班<03837>說<0559><8799>：{<03588>}恐怕<06435>{<03588>}{<0559>}{<8804>}你把你的女兒<01323>從我奪去<01497><8799>，所以我逃跑<03372><8804>。
[big5] 至於你的神像，你在誰那裡搜出來，就不容誰存活。當著我們的眾弟兄，你認一認，在我這裡有什麼東西是你的，就拿去。原來雅各不知道拉結偷了那些神像。
[bbe] As for your gods, if anyone of us has them, let him be put to death: make search before us all for what is yours, and take it. For Jacob had no knowledge that Rachel had taken them.
[dunv] 至於你的神像<0430>，你在誰<0834>那裡搜<04672><8799>出來，就不容誰存活<02421><8799>。當著<05048>我們的眾弟兄<0251>，你認一認<05234><8685>，在我這裡有甚麼東西是你的，就拿<03947><8798>去。原來雅各<03290>不知道<03045><8804>拉結<07354>偷了<01589><8804>那些神像。
[big5] 拉班進了雅各、利亞，並兩個使女的帳棚，都沒有搜出來，就從利亞的帳棚出來，進了拉結的帳棚。
[bbe] So Laban went into Jacob's tent and into Leah's tent, and into the tents of the two servant-women, but they were not there; and he came out of Leah's tent and went into Rachel's.
[dunv] 拉班<03837>進<0935><8799>了雅各<03290>{<0168>}、利亞<03812>{<0168>}，並兩個<08147>使女<0519>的帳棚<0168>，都沒有搜出來<04672><8804>，就從利亞<03812>的帳棚<0168>出來<03318><8799>，進了<0935><8799>拉結<07354>的帳棚<0168>。
[big5] 拉結已經把神像藏在駱駝的馱簍裡，便坐在上頭。拉班摸遍了那帳棚，並沒有摸著。
[bbe] Now Rachel had taken the images, and had put them in the camels' basket, and was seated on them. And Laban, searching through all the tent, did not come across them.
[dunv] 拉結<07354>已經把<03947><8804>神像<08655>藏在<07760><8799>駱駝<01581>的馱簍<03733>裡，便坐<03427><8799>在上頭。拉班<03837>摸<04959><8762>遍了那帳棚<0168>，並沒有摸著<04672><8804>。
[big5] 拉結對他父親說：現在我身上不便，不能在你面前起來，求我主不要生氣。這樣，拉班搜尋神像，竟沒有搜出來。
[bbe] And she said to her father, Let not my lord be angry because I do not get up before you, for I am in the common condition of women. And with all his searching, he did not come across the images.
[dunv] 拉結對他父親<01>說<0559><8799>：現在我身上不便<01870><0802>，不能<03201><8799>在你面前<06440>起來<06965><8800>，求我主<0113>不要生氣<02734><8799><05869>。這樣，拉班搜尋<02664><8762>神像<08655>，竟沒有搜出來<04672><8804>。
[big5] 雅各就發怒斥責拉班說：我有什麼過犯，有什麼罪惡，你竟這樣火速地追我？
[bbe] Then Jacob was angry with Laban, and said, What crime or sin have I done that you have come after me with such passion?
[dunv] 雅各<03290>就發怒<02734><8799>斥責<07378><8799>拉班<03837>{<03290>}{<03290>}{<03837>}{<03837>}說<0559><8799>：我有甚麼過犯<06588>，有甚麼罪惡<02403>，你竟這樣火速的追<01814><8804>我<0310>？
[big5] 你摸遍了我一切的家具，你搜出什麼來呢？可以放在你我弟兄面前，叫他們在你我中間辨別辨別。
[bbe] Now that you have made search through all my goods, what have you seen which is yours? Make it clear now before my people and your people, so that they may be judges between us.
[dunv] 你摸<04959><8765>遍了我一切的<03588>家<01004>具<03627>，你搜出<04672><8804>甚麼{<03627>}來呢？可以放<07760><8798>在{<03541>}你我弟兄<0251><0251>面前，叫他們在你我<08147>中間<0996>辨別辨別<03198><8686>。
[big5] 我在你家這二十年，你的母綿羊、母山羊沒有掉過胎。你群中的公羊，我沒有吃過；
[bbe] These twenty years I have been with you; your sheep and your goats have had young without loss, not one of your he-goats have I taken for food.
[dunv] 我在你家這二十<06242>年<08141>，你的母綿羊<07353>、母山羊<05795>沒有掉過胎<07921><8765>。你群<06629>中的公羊<0352>，我沒有吃過<0398><8804>；
[big5] 被野獸撕裂的，我沒有帶來給你，是我自己賠上。無論是白日，是黑夜，被偷去的，你都向我索要。
[bbe] Anything which was wounded by beasts I did not take to you, but myself made up for the loss of it; you made me responsible for whatever was taken by thieves, by day or by night.
[dunv] 被野獸撕裂的<02966>，我沒有帶<0935><8689>來給你，是我自己賠上<02398><8762>。無論是白日<03117>{<01589>}{<8803>}，是黑夜<03915>，被偷<01589><8803>去的，你都向我{<03027>}索要<01245><8762>。
[big5] 我白日受盡乾熱，黑夜受盡寒霜，不得合眼睡著，我常是這樣。
[bbe] This was my condition, wasted by heat in the day and by the bitter cold at night; and sleep went from my eyes.
[dunv] 我白日<03117>受盡<0398><8804>乾熱<02721>，黑夜<03915>受盡寒霜<07140>，不得<05074><8799>合眼<05869>睡<08142>著，我常是這樣。
[big5] 我這二十年在你家裡，為你的兩個女兒服事你十四年，為你的羊群服事你六年，你又十次改了我的工價。
[bbe] These twenty years I have been in your house; I was your servant for fourteen years because of your daughters, and for six years I kept your flock, and ten times was my payment changed.
[dunv] 我這二十<06242>年<08141>在你家<01004>裡，為你的兩<08147>個女兒<01323>服事你<05647><8804>十四<0702><06240>年<08141>，為你的羊群<06629>服事你六<08337>年<08141>，你又十<06235>次<04489>改了<02498><8686>我的工價<04909>。
[big5] 若不是我父親以撒所敬畏的神，就是亞伯拉罕的神與我同在，你如今必定打發我空手而去。神看見我的苦情和我的勞碌，就在昨夜責備你。
[bbe] If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would have sent me away with nothing in my hands. But God has seen my troubles and the work of my hands, and this night he kept you back.
[dunv] 若不是<03884>我父親<01>以撒<03327>所敬畏<06343>的神<0430>，就是亞伯拉罕<085>的神<0430>與我同在，你如今必定打發<07971><8765>我空手<07387>而去。神<0430>看見<07200><8804>我的苦情<06040>和我{<03709>}的勞碌<03018>，就在昨夜<0570>責備<03198><8686>你。
[big5] 拉班回答雅各說：這女兒是我的女兒，這些孩子是我的孩子，這些羊群也是我的羊群；凡在你眼前的都是我的。我的女兒並他們所生的孩子，我今日能向他們做什麼呢？
[bbe] Then Laban, answering, said, These women are my daughters and these children my children, the flocks and all you see are mine: what now may I do for my daughters and for their children?
[dunv] 拉班<03837>回答<06030><8799>雅各<03290>說<0559><8799>：這女兒<01323>是我的女兒<01323>，這些孩子<01121>是我的孩子<01121>，這些羊群<06629>也是我的羊群<06629>；凡在你眼前<07200><8802>的都是我的。我的女兒<01323>並<0176>他們所生<03205><8804>的孩子<01121>，我今日<03117>能向他們做<06213><8799>甚麼呢？
[big5] 來吧！你我二人可以立約，作你我中間的證據。
[bbe] Come, let us make an agreement, you and I; and let it be for a witness between us.
[dunv] 來罷<03212><8798>！你我二人可以立<03772><8799>約<01285>，作你我中間的證據<05707>。
[big5] 雅各就拿一塊石頭立作柱子，
[bbe] Then Jacob took a stone and put it up as a pillar.
[dunv] 雅各<03290>就拿<03947><8799>一塊石頭<068>立<07311><8686>作柱子<04676>，
[big5] 又對眾弟兄說：你們堆聚石頭。他們就拿石頭來堆成一堆，大家便在旁邊吃喝。
[bbe] And Jacob said to his people, Get stones together; and they did so; and they had a meal there by the stones.
[dunv] {<03290>}又對眾弟兄<0251>說<0559><8799>：你們堆聚<03950><8798>石頭<068>。他們就拿<03947><8799>石頭<068>來堆<06213><8799>成一堆<01530>，大家便在旁邊<01530>吃<0398><8799>喝。
[big5] 拉班稱那石堆為伊迦爾撒哈杜他，雅各卻稱那石堆為迦累得【都是以石堆為證的意思】。
[bbe] And the name Laban gave it was Jegar-sahadutha: but Jacob gave it the name of Galeed.
[dunv] 拉班<03837>稱<07121><8799>那石堆為伊迦爾撒哈杜他<03026>，雅各<03290>卻稱<07121><8804>那石堆為迦累得<01567>【都是以石堆為證的意思】。
[big5] 拉班說：今日這石堆作你我中間的證據。因此這地方名叫迦累得，
[bbe] And Laban said, These stones are a witness between you and me today. For this reason its name was Galeed,
[dunv] 拉班<03837>說<0559><8799>：今日<03117>這石堆<01530>作你我中間的證據<05707>。因此這地方名<08034>叫<07121><8804>迦累得<01567>，
[big5] 又叫米斯巴，意思說：我們彼此離別以後，願耶和華在你我中間鑒察。
[bbe] And Mizpah, for he said, May the Lord keep watch on us when we are unable to see one another's doings.
[dunv] 又叫米斯巴<04709>，意思{<0834>}說<0559><8804>：我們彼此<0376><07453>離別<05641><8735>以後，願耶和華<03068>在你我中間鑒察<06822><8799>。
[big5] 你若苦待我的女兒，又在我的女兒以外另娶妻，雖沒有人知道，卻有神在你我中間作見證。
[bbe] If you are cruel to my daughters, or if you take other wives in addition to my daughters, then though no man is there to see, God will be the witness between us.
[dunv] 你若苦待<06031><8762>我的女兒<01323>，又在我的女兒<01323>以外<05921>另娶<03947><8799>妻<0802>，雖沒有人<0376>知道<07200><8798>，卻有神<0430>在你我中間作見證<05707>。
[big5] 拉班又說：你看我在你我中間所立的這石堆和柱子。
[bbe] And Laban said, See these stones and this pillar which I have put between you and me;
[dunv] 拉班<03837>又說<0559><8799>{<03290>}：你看我在你我中間所立<03384><8804>的這石堆<01530>和柱子<04676>。
[big5] 這石堆作證據，這柱子也作證據。我必不過這石堆去害你；你也不可過這石堆和柱子來害我。
[bbe] They will be witness that I will not go over these stones to you, and you will not go over these stones or this pillar to me, for any evil purpose.
[dunv] 這石堆<01530>作證據<05707>，這柱子<04676>也作證據<05713>。我必不過<05674><8799>這石堆<01530>去害你；你也不可過<05674><8799>這石堆<01530>和柱子<04676>來害<07451>我。
[big5] 但願亞伯拉罕的神和拿鶴的神，就是他們父親的神，在你我中間判斷。雅各就指著他父親以撒所敬畏的神起誓，

[bbe] And Jacob made an offering on the mountain, and gave orders to his people to take food: so they had a meal and took their rest that night on the mountain.

[bbe] And early in the morning Laban, after kissing and blessing his daughters, went on his way back to his country.
