[bbe] Now Rachel, because she had no children, was full of envy of her sister; and she said to Jacob, If you do not give me children I will not go on living.

[bbe] But Jacob was angry with Rachel, and said, Am I in the place of God, who has kept your body from having fruit?

[bbe] Then she said, Here is my servant Bilhah, go in to her, so that she may have a child on my knees, and I may have a family by her.

[bbe] So she gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife, and Jacob went in to her.

[bbe] And Bilhah became with child, and gave birth to a son.

[bbe] Then Rachel said, God has been my judge, and has given ear to my voice, and has given me a son; so he was named Dan.

[bbe] And again Bilhah, Rachel's servant, was with child, and gave birth to a second son.

[bbe] And Rachel said, I have had a great fight with my sister, and I have overcome her: and she gave the child the name Naphtali.

[bbe] When it was clear to Leah that she would have no more children for a time, she gave Zilpah, her servant, to Jacob as a wife.

[bbe] And Zilpah, Leah's servant, gave birth to a second son.

[big5] 利亞說：我有福啊，眾女子都要稱我是有福的，於是給他起名叫亞設【就是有福的意思】。
[bbe] And Leah said, Happy am I! and all women will give witness to my joy: and she gave him the name Asher.

[big5] 割麥子的時候，流便往田裡去，尋見風茄，拿來給他母親利亞。拉結對利亞說：請你把你兒子的風茄給我些。
[bbe] Now at the time of the grain-cutting, Reuben saw some love-fruits in the field, and took them to his mother Leah. And Rachel said to her, Let me have some of your son's love-fruits.

[bbe] But Leah said to her, Is it a small thing that you have taken my husband from me? and now would you take my son's love-fruits? Then Rachel said, You may have him tonight in exchange for your son's love-fruits.

[big5] 到了晚上，雅各從田裡回來，利亞出來迎接他，說：你要與我同寢，因為我實在用我兒子的風茄把你雇下了。那一夜，雅各就與他同寢。
[bbe] In the evening, when Jacob came in from the field, Leah went out to him and said, Tonight you are to come to me, for I have given my son's love-fruits as a price for you. And he went in to her that night.

[bbe] And God gave ear to her and she became with child, and gave Jacob a fifth son.

[bbe] Then Leah said, God has made payment to me for giving my servant-girl to my husband: so she gave her son the name Issachar.

[bbe] And again Leah became with child, and she gave Jacob a sixth son.

[big5] 利亞說：神賜我厚賞；我丈夫必與我同住，因我給他生了六個兒子，於是給他起名西布倫【就是同住的意思】。
[bbe] And she said, God has given me a good bride-price; now at last will I have my husband living with me, for I have given him six sons: and she gave him the name Zebulun.

[big5] 後來又生了一個女兒，給他起名叫底拿。
[bbe] After that she had a daughter, to whom she gave the name Dinah.

[big5] 神顧念拉結，應允了他，使他能生育。
[bbe] Then God gave thought to Rachel, and hearing her prayer he made her fertile.

[big5] 拉結懷孕生子，說：神除去了我的羞恥，
[bbe] And she was with child, and gave birth to a son: and she said, God has taken away my shame.

[big5] 就給他起名叫約瑟【就是增添的意思】，意思說：願耶和華再增添我一個兒子。
[bbe] And she gave him the name Joseph, saying, May the Lord give me another son.
[dunv] 就給他起名<08034>叫<07121><8799>約瑟<03130>【就是增添的意思】，意思說<0559><8800>：願耶和華<03068>再<0312>增添<03254><8686>我一個兒子<01121>。
[big5] 拉結生約瑟之後，雅各對拉班說：請打發我走，叫我回到我本鄉本土去。
[bbe] Now after the birth of Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, Let me go away to my place and my country.
[dunv] 拉結<07354>生<03205><8804>約瑟<03130>之後，雅各<03290>對拉班<03837>說<0559><8799>：請打發我走<07971><8761>，叫我回到<03212><8799>我本鄉<04725>本土<0776>去。
[big5] 請你把我服事你所得的妻子和兒女給我，讓我走；我怎樣服事你，你都知道。
[bbe] Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have been your servant, and let me go: for you have knowledge of all the work I have done for you.
[dunv] 請你把我{<02004>}服事<05647><8804>你所得的妻子<0802>和兒女<03206>給<05414><8798>我，讓我走<03212><8799>；我怎樣服事<05647><8804>{<05656>}你，你都知道<03045><8804>。
[big5] 拉班對他說：我若在你眼前蒙恩，請你仍與我同住，因為我已算定，耶和華賜福與我是為你的緣故；
[bbe] And Laban said, If you will let me say so, do not go away; for I have seen by the signs that the Lord has been good to me because of you.
[dunv] 拉班<03837>對他說<0559><8799>：我若在你眼<05869>前蒙<04672><8804>恩<02580>，請你仍與我同住，因為我已算定<05172><8765>，耶和華<03068>賜福<01288><8762>與我是為你的緣故<01558>；
[big5] 又說：請你定你的工價，我就給你。
[bbe] Say then what your payment is to be and I will give it.
[dunv] 又說<0559><8799>：請你定<05344><8798>你的工價<07939>，我就給<05414><8799>你。
[big5] 雅各對他說：我怎樣服事你，你的牲畜在我手裡怎樣，是你知道的。
[bbe] Then Jacob said, You have seen what I have done for you, and how your cattle have done well under my care.
[dunv] 雅各對他說<0559><8799>：我怎樣<0834>服事<05647><8804>你，你的牲畜<04735>在我手裡怎樣<0834>，是你知道<03045><8804>的。
[big5] 我未來之先，你所有的很少，現今卻發大眾多，耶和華隨我的腳步賜福與你。如今，我什麼時候才為自己興家立業呢？
[bbe] For before I came you had little, and it has been greatly increased; and the Lord has given you a blessing in everything I have done; but when am I to do something for my family?
[dunv] 我未來之先<06440>，你所有的很少<04592>，現今卻發大<06555><8799>眾多<07230>，耶和華<03068>隨我的腳步<07272>賜福<01288><8762>與你。如今，我甚麼時候<04970>才為自己興<06213><8799>家<01004>立業呢？
[big5] 拉班說：我當給你什麼呢？雅各說：什麼你也不必給我，只有一件事，你若應承，我便仍舊牧放你的羊群。
[bbe] And Laban said, What am I to give you? And Jacob said, Do not give me anything; but I will again take up the care of your flock if you will only do this for me:
[dunv] 拉班說<0559><8799>：我當給<05414><8799>你甚麼呢？雅各<03290>說<0559><8799>：甚麼<03972>你也不必給<05414><8799>我，只有一件事<01697>，你若應承<06213><8799>，我便仍舊<07725><8799>牧<07462><8799>放<08104><8799>你的羊群<06629>。
[big5] 今天我要走遍你的羊群，把綿羊中凡有點的、有斑的，和黑色的，並山羊中凡有斑的、有點的，都挑出來；將來這一等的就算我的工價。
[bbe] Let me go through all your flock today, taking out from among them all the sheep which are marked or coloured or black, and all the marked or coloured goats: these will be my payment.
[dunv] 今天<03117>我要走遍<05674><8799>你的羊群<06629>，把綿羊<03775>中凡有點的<05348>、有斑的<02921><8803>{<07716>}，和黑色的<02345>{<07716>}，並山羊<05795>中凡有斑的<02921><8803>、有點的<05348>，都挑出來<05493><8687>；將來這一等的就算我的工價<07939>。
[big5] 以後你來查看我的工價，凡在我手裡的山羊不是有點有斑的，綿羊不是黑色的，那就算是我偷的；這樣便可證出我的公義來。
[bbe] And so you will be able to put my honour to the test in time to come; if you see among my flocks any goats which are not marked or coloured, or any sheep which is not black, you may take me for a thief.
[dunv] 以後<03117><04279>你<06440>來<0935><8799>查看我的工價<07939>，凡<03605>在我手裡的山羊<05795>不是有點<05348>有斑的<02921><8803>，綿羊<03775>不是黑色的<02345>，那就算是我偷<01589><8803>的；這樣便可證出<06030><8804>我的公義<06666>來。
[big5] 拉班說：好啊！我情願照著你的話行。
[bbe] And Laban said, Let it be as you say.
[dunv] 拉班<03837>說<0559><8799>：好阿！我情願照著<03863>你的話<01697>行。
[big5] 當日，拉班把有紋的、有斑的公山羊，有點的、有斑的、有雜白紋的母山羊，並黑色的綿羊，都挑出來，交在他兒子們的手下，
[bbe] So that day he took all the he-goats which were banded or coloured, and all the she-goats which were marked or coloured or had white marks, and all the black sheep, and gave them into the care of his sons;
[dunv] 當日<03117>，拉班把有紋的<06124>、有斑的<02921><8803>公山羊<08495>，有點的<05348>、有斑的<02921><8803>、有雜白紋的<03836>母山羊<05795>，並黑色的<02345>綿羊<03775>，都挑出來<05493><8686>，交<05414><8799>在他兒子們<01121>的手下<03027>，
[big5] 又使自己和雅各相離三天的路程。雅各就牧養拉班其餘的羊。
[bbe] And sent them three days' journey away: and Jacob took care of the rest of Laban's flock.

[big5] 雅各拿楊樹、杏樹、楓樹的嫩枝，將皮剝成白紋，使枝子露出白的來，
[bbe] Then Jacob took young branches of trees, cutting off the skin so that the white wood was seen in bands.
[dunv] 雅各<03290>拿<03947><8799>楊樹<03839>、杏樹<03869>、楓樹<06196>的嫩<03892>枝<04731>，將皮剝成<06478><8762>白<03836>紋<06479>，使枝子<04731>露出<04286>白<03836>的來，
[big5] 將剝了皮的枝子，對著羊群，插在飲羊的水溝裡和水槽裡，羊來喝的時候，牝牡配合。
[bbe] And he put the banded sticks in the drinking-places where the flock came to get water; and they became with young when they came to the water.
[dunv] 將剝了皮<06478><8765>的枝子<04731>，對著<05227>羊群<06629>，插在<03322><8686>飲羊的水溝<07298>裡和水<04325>槽<08268>裡，羊<06629>來<0935><8799>喝<08354><8800>的時候，牝牡配合<03179><8799>{<0935>}{<8800>}{<08354>}{<8800>}。
[big5] 羊對著枝子配合，就生下有紋的、有點的、有斑的來。
[bbe] And because of this, the flock gave birth to young which were marked with bands of colour.
[dunv] 羊<06629>對著枝子<04731>配合<03179><8799>，就生下<03205><8799>有紋的<06124>、有點的<05348>、有斑的<02921><8803>{<06629>}來。
[big5] 雅各把羊羔分出來，使拉班的羊與這有紋和黑色的羊相對，把自己的羊另放一處，不叫他和拉班的羊混雜。
[bbe] These lambs Jacob kept separate; and he put his flock in a place by themselves and not with Laban's flock.
[dunv] 雅各<03290>把羊羔<03775>分出來<06504><8689>，使拉班<03837>的羊<06629>{<06440>}與<0413>這有紋<06124>和黑色的<02345>羊<06629>相對<05414><8799>，把自己的羊<05739>另放<07896><8799>一處，不叫他和拉班<03837>的羊<06629>混雜<07896><8804>。
[big5] 到羊群肥壯配合的時候，雅各就把枝子插在水溝裡，使羊對著枝子配合。
[bbe] And whenever the stronger ones of the flock became with young, Jacob put the sticks in front of them in the drinking-places, so that they might become with young when they saw the sticks.
[dunv] 到羊群<06629>肥壯<07194><8794>配合<03179><8763>的時候，雅各<03290>就把枝子<04731>插<07760><8804>在水溝<07298>裡，使羊對著{<05869>}{<06629>}枝子<04731>配合<03179><8763>。
[big5] 只是到羊瘦弱配合的時候就不插枝子。這樣，瘦弱的就歸拉班，肥壯的就歸雅各。
[bbe] But when the flocks were feeble, he did not put the sticks before them; so that the feebler flocks were Laban's and the stronger were Jacob's.
[dunv] 只是到羊<06629>瘦弱<05848><8687>配合的時候就不插<07760><8799>枝子。這樣，瘦弱的<05848><8803>就歸拉班<03837>，肥壯的<07194><8803>就歸雅各<03290>。
[big5] 於是雅各極其發大，得了許多的羊群、僕婢、駱駝，和驢。
[bbe] So Jacob's wealth was greatly increased; he had great flocks and women-servants and men-servants and camels and asses.
