[bbe] Now King David was old and far on in years; and though they put covers over him, his body was cold.

[bbe] So his servants said to him, Let search be made for a young virgin for my lord the king, to take care of him and be waiting on him; and you may take her in your arms, and so my lord the king will be warm.

[bbe] So after searching through all the land of Israel for a fair young girl, they saw Abishag the Shunammite, and took her to the king.

[bbe] Now she was very beautiful; and she took care of the king, waiting on him at all times; but the king had no connection with her.

[bbe] Then Adonijah, the son of Haggith, lifting himself up in pride, said, I will become king; and he made ready his carriages of war and his horsemen, with fifty runners to go before him.

[bbe] Now all his life his father had never gone against him or said to him, Why have you done so? and he was a very good-looking man, and younger than Absalom.

[bbe] And he had talk with Joab, the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest; and they were on his side and gave him their support.

[bbe] But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet and Shimei and Rei, and David's men of war did not take the side of Adonijah.
[dunv] 但祭司<03548>撒督<06659>、耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>比拿雅<01141>、先知<05030>拿單<05416>、示每<08096>、利以<07472>，並大衛<01732>的勇士<01368>都不順從亞多尼雅<0138>。
[big5] 一日，亞多尼雅在隱羅結旁、瑣希列磐石那裡宰了牛羊、肥犢，請他的諸弟兄，就是王的眾子，並所有作王臣僕的猶大人；
[bbe] Then Adonijah put to death sheep and oxen and fat beasts by the stone of Zoheleth, by En-rogel; and he sent for all his brothers, the king's sons, and all the men of Judah, the king's servants, to come to him:

[bbe] But he did not send for Nathan the prophet and Benaiah and the other men of war and Solomon his brother.

[bbe] Then Nathan said to Bath-sheba, the mother of Solomon, Has it not come to your ears that Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has made himself king without the knowledge of David our lord?
[dunv] 拿單<05416>對所羅門<08010>的母親<0517>拔示巴<01339>說<0559><8800><0559><8799>：哈及<02294>的兒子<01121>亞多尼雅<0138>作王了<04427><8804>，你沒有聽見<08085><8804>麼？我們的主<0113>大衛<01732>卻不知道<03045><8804>。
[big5] 現在我可以給你出個主意，好保全你和你兒子所羅門的性命。
[bbe] So now, let me make a suggestion, so that you may keep your life safe and the life of your son Solomon.

[big5] 你進去見大衛王，對他說：我主我王啊，你不曾向婢女起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上嗎？現在亞多尼雅怎麼作了王呢？
[bbe] Come now, go to King David and say to him, Did you not, O my lord, take an oath to me, your servant, saying, Truly Solomon your son will be king after me, seated on the seat of my kingdom? why then is Adonijah acting as king?
[dunv] 你{<03212>}{<8798>}進去<0935><8798>見大衛<01732>王<04428>，對他說<0559><8804>：我主<0113>我王<04428>啊，你不曾向婢女<0519>起誓<07650><8738>說<0559><8800>：你兒子<01121>所羅門<08010>必<03588>接續<0310>我作王<04427><8799>，坐<03427><8799>在我的位<03678>上麼？現在亞多尼雅<0138>怎麼作了王<04427><8804>呢？
[big5] 你還與王說話的時候，我也隨後進去，證實你的話。
[bbe] And while you are still talking there with the king, see, I will come in after you and say that your story is true.
[dunv] 你還與王<04428>說話<01696><8764>的時候，我也隨後<0310>進去<0935><8799>，證實<04390><8765>你的話<01697>。
[big5] 拔示巴進入內室見王，王甚老邁，書念的童女亞比煞正伺候王。
[bbe] Then Bath-sheba went into the king's room; now the king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was waiting on him.

[bbe] And Bath-sheba went down on her face on the earth before the king giving him honour. And he said, What is your desire?
[dunv] 拔示巴<01339>向王<04428>屈身<06915><8799>下拜<07812><8691>；王<04428>說<0559><8799>：你要甚麼？
[big5] 他說：我主啊，你曾向婢女指著耶和華─你的神起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上。
[bbe] And she said to him, My lord, you took an oath by the Lord your God and gave your word to your servant, saying, Truly, Solomon your son will be king after me, seated on the seat of my kingdom.
[dunv] 他說：我主<0113>啊，你曾向婢女<0519>指著耶和華<03068>─你的神<0430>起誓<07650><8738>說<0559><8799>：你兒子<01121>所羅門<08010>必接續<0310>我作王<04427><8799>，坐<03427><8799>在我的位<03678>上。
[big5] 現在亞多尼雅作王了，我主我王卻不知道。
[bbe] And now, see, Adonijah has made himself king without my lord's knowledge;
[dunv] 現在亞多尼雅<0138>作王了<04427><8804>，我主<0113>我王<04428>卻不知道<03045><8804>。
[big5] 他宰了許多牛羊、肥犢，請了王的眾子和祭司亞比亞他，並元帥約押；惟獨王的僕人所羅門，他沒有請。
[bbe] And has put to death oxen and fat beasts and sheep in great numbers, and has sent for all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab, the captain of the army; but he has not sent for Solomon your servant.
[dunv] 他宰了<02076><8799>許多<07230>牛<07794>羊<06629>、肥犢<04806>，請了<07121><8799>王<04428>的眾子<01121>和祭司<03548>亞比亞他<054>，並元帥<08269><06635>約押<03097>；惟獨王的僕人<05650>所羅門<08010>，他沒有請<07121><8804>。
[big5] 我主我王啊，以色列眾人的眼目都仰望你，等你曉諭他們，在我主我王之後誰坐你的位。
[bbe] And now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, waiting for you to say who is to take the place of my lord the king after him.
[dunv] 我主<0113>我王<04428>啊，以色列<03478>眾人的眼目<05869>都仰望你，等你曉諭<05046><8687>他們，在我主<0113>我王<04428>之後<0310>誰坐<03427><8799>你的位<03678>。
[big5] 若不然，到我主我王與列祖同睡以後，我和我兒子所羅門必算為罪人了。
[bbe] For as things are, it will come about, when my lord the king is sleeping with his fathers, that I and Solomon my son will be made outlaws.
[dunv] 若不然，到我主<0113>我王<04428>與列祖<01>同睡<07901><8800>以後，我和我兒子<01121>所羅門<08010>必算為罪人<02400>了。
[big5] 拔示巴還與王說話的時候，先知拿單也進來了。
[bbe] And while she was still talking with the king, Nathan the prophet came in.
[dunv] 拔示巴還與王<04428>說話<01696><8764>的時候，先知<05030>拿單<05416>也進來了<0935><8804>。
[big5] 有人奏告王說：先知拿單來了。拿單進到王前，臉伏於地。
[bbe] And they said to the king, Here is Nathan the prophet. And when he came in before the king, he went down on his face on the earth.
[dunv] 有人奏告<05046><8686>王<04428>說<0559><8800>：先知<05030>拿單<05416>來了。拿單進<0935><8799>到王<04428>前<06440>，臉<0639>伏<07812><8691>於地<0776>。
[big5] 拿單說：我主我王果然應許亞多尼雅說你必接續我作王，坐在我的位上嗎？
[bbe] And Nathan said, O my lord king, have you said, Adonijah is to be king after me, seated on the seat of my kingdom?
[dunv] 拿單<05416>說<0559><8799>：我主<0113>我王<04428>果然應許亞多尼雅<0138>說<0559><8804>你必接續<0310>我作王<04427><8799>，坐<03427><8799>在我的位<03678>上麼？
[big5] 他今日下去，宰了許多牛羊、肥犢，請了王的眾子和軍長，並祭司亞比亞他；他們正在亞多尼雅面前吃喝，說：願亞多尼雅王萬歲！
[bbe] Because today he has gone down and has put to death oxen and fat beasts and sheep in great numbers, and has sent for all the king's sons to come to him, with the captains of the army and Abiathar the priest; and they are feasting before him and crying, Long life to King Adonijah!
[dunv] 他今日<03117>下去<03381><8804>，宰了<02076><8799>許多<07230>牛<07794>羊<06629>、肥犢<04806>，請了<07121><8799>王<04428>的眾子<01121>和軍<06635>長<08269>，並祭司<03548>亞比亞他<054>；他們正在亞多尼雅面前<06440>吃<0398><8802>喝<08354><8802>，說<0559><8799>：願亞多尼雅<0138>王<04428>萬歲<02421><8799>！
[big5] 惟獨我，就是你的僕人和祭司撒督，耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，並王的僕人所羅門，他都沒有請。
[bbe] But me, your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, he has not sent for.
[dunv] 惟獨我，就是你的僕人<05650>和祭司<03548>撒督<06659>，耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>比拿雅<01141>，並王的僕人<05650>所羅門<08010>，他都沒有請<07121><8804>。
[big5] 這事果然出乎我主我王嗎？王卻沒有告訴僕人們，在我主我王之後誰坐你的位。
[bbe] Has this thing been done by my lord the king, without giving word to your servants who was to be placed on my lord the king's seat after him?
[dunv] 這事<01697>果然出<01961><8738>乎我主<0113>我王<04428>麼？王卻沒有告訴<03045><8689>僕人<05650>們，在我主<0113>我王<04428>之後<0310>誰坐<03427><8799>你的位<03678>。
[big5] 大衛王吩咐說：叫拔示巴來。拔示巴就進來，站在王面前。
[bbe] Then King David in answer said, Send for Bath-sheba to come to me. And she came in and took her place before the king.
[dunv] 大衛<01732>王<04428>吩咐<06030><8799>說<0559><8799>：叫<07121><8798>拔示巴<01339>來。拔示巴就進來<0935><8799>{<04428>}{<06440>}，站<05975><8799>在王<04428>面前<06440>。
[big5] 王起誓說：我指著救我性命脫離一切苦難、永生的耶和華起誓。
[bbe] And the king took an oath, and said, By the living Lord, who has been my saviour from all my troubles,
[dunv] 王<04428>起誓<07650><8735>說<0559><8799>：我指著救<06299><8804>我性命<05315>脫離一切苦難<06869>、永生<02416>的耶和華<03068>起誓。
[big5] 我既然指著耶和華─以色列的神向你起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上。我今日就必照這話而行。
[bbe] As I took an oath to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, saying, Certainly Solomon your son will become king after me, seated on my seat in my place; so will I do this day.
[dunv] 我既然指著耶和華<03068>─以色列<03478>的神<0430>向你起誓<07650><8738>說<0559><8800>：你兒子<01121>所羅門<08010>必接續<0310>我作王<04427><8799>，坐<03427><8799>在我的位<03678>上。我今日<03117>就必照這話而行<06213><8799>。
[big5] 於是，拔示巴臉伏於地，向王下拜，說：願我主大衛王萬歲！
[bbe] Then Bath-sheba went down on her face on the earth before the king giving him honour, and said, May my lord King David go on living for ever.
[dunv] 於是，拔示巴<01339>臉<0639>伏<06915><8799>於地<0776>，向王<04428>下拜<07812><8691>，說<0559><8799>：願我主<0113>大衛<01732>王<04428>萬<05769>歲<02421><8799>！
[big5] 大衛王又吩咐說：將祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅召來！他們就都來到王面前。
[bbe] And King David said, Send for Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.
[dunv] 大衛<01732>王<04428>又吩咐說<0559><8799>：將祭司<03548>撒督<06659>、先知<05030>拿單<05416>、耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>比拿雅<01141>召<07121><8798>來！他們就都來<0935><8799>到王<04428>面前<06440>。
[big5] 王對他們說：要帶領你們主的僕人，使我兒子所羅門騎我的騾子，送他下到基訓；
[bbe] And the king said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and put Solomon my son on my beast, yes, mine, and take him down to Gihon;
[dunv] 王<04428>對他們說<0559><8799>：要帶領<03947><8798>你們主<0113>的僕人<05650>，使我兒子<01121>所羅門<08010>騎<07392><8689>我的騾子<06506>，送他下<03381><8689>到基訓<01521>；
[big5] 在那裡，祭司撒督和先知拿單要膏他作以色列的王；你們也要吹角，說：願所羅門王萬歲！
[bbe] And there let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet put the holy oil on him to make him king over Israel; and sounding the horn say, Long life to King Solomon!
[dunv] 在那裡，祭司<03548>撒督<06659>和先知<05030>拿單<05416>要膏<04886><8804>他作以色列<03478>的王<04428>；你們也要吹<08628><8804>角<07782>，說<0559><8804>：願所羅門<08010>王<04428>萬歲<02421><8799>！
[big5] 然後要跟隨他上來，使他坐在我的位上，接續我作王。我已立他作以色列和猶大的君。
[bbe] Then come up after him and he will come in and take his place on the seat of my kingdom; for he is to be king in my place, and I have given orders that he is to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
[dunv] 然後要跟隨<0310>他上來<05927><8804>，使他{<0935>}{<8804>}坐<03427><8804>在我的位<03678>上，接續我作王<04427><8799>。我已立<06680><8765>他作以色列<03478>和猶大<03063>的君<05057>。
[big5] 耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅對王說：阿們！願耶和華─我主我王的神也這樣命定。
[bbe] And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, answering the king, said, So be it: and may the Lord, the God of my lord the king, say so.
[dunv] 耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>比拿雅<01141>對王<04428>{<06030>}{<8799>}說<0559><8799>：阿們<0543>！願耶和華<03068>─我主<0113>我王<04428>的神<0430>也這樣命定<0559><8799>。
[big5] 耶和華怎樣與我主我王同在，願他照樣與所羅門同在，使他的國位比我主大衛王的國位更大。
[bbe] As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may he be with Solomon and make the seat of his authority greater than that of my lord King David.
[dunv] 耶和華<03068>怎樣與我主<0113>我王<04428>同在，願他照樣與所羅門<08010>同在，使他的國位<03678>比我主<0113>大衛<01732>王<04428>的國位<03678>更大<01431><8762>。
[big5] 於是，祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都下去使所羅門騎大衛王的騾子，將他送到基訓。
[bbe] So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, went down and put Solomon on King David's beast and took him to Gihon.
[dunv] 於是，祭司<03548>撒督<06659>、先知<05030>拿單<05416>、耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>比拿雅<01141>，和基利提人<03774>、比利提人<06432>都下去<03381><8799>使所羅門<08010>騎<07392><8686>大衛<01732>王<04428>的騾子<06506>，將他送<03212><8686>到基訓<01521>。
[big5] 祭司撒督就從帳幕中取了盛膏油的角來，用膏膏所羅門。人就吹角，眾民都說：願所羅門王萬歲！
[bbe] And Zadok the priest took the vessel of oil out of the Tent, and put the holy oil on Solomon. And when the horn was sounded, all the people said, Long life to King Solomon!
[dunv] 祭司<03548>撒督<06659>就從帳幕<0168>中取了<03947><8799>盛膏油<08081>的角<07161>來，用膏膏<04886><8799>所羅門<08010>。人就吹<08628><8799>角<07782>，眾民<05971>都說<0559><8799>：願所羅門<08010>王<04428>萬歲<02421><8799>！
[big5] 眾民跟隨他上來，且吹笛，大大歡呼，聲音震地。
[bbe] And all the people came up after him, piping with pipes, and they were glad with great joy, so that the earth was shaking with the sound.
[dunv] 眾民<05971>跟隨<0310>他上來<05927><8799>，{<05971>}且吹<02490><8764>笛<02485>，大大<01419>歡<08057>呼<08056>，聲音<06963>震<01234><8735>地<0776>。
[big5] 亞多尼雅和所請的眾客筵宴方畢，聽見這聲音；約押聽見角聲就說：城中為何有這響聲呢？
[bbe] And it came to the ears of Adonijah and all the guests who were with him, when their meal was ended. And Joab, hearing the sound of the horn, said, What is the reason of this noise as if the town was worked up?
[dunv] 亞多尼雅<0138>和所請的眾客<07121><8803>筵宴<0398><8800>方畢<03615><8765>，聽見<08085><8799>這聲音；約押<03097>聽見<08085><8799>角<07782>聲<06963>就說<0559><8799>：城<07151>中為何有這響<01993><8802聲><06963>呢？
[big5] 他正說話的時候，祭司亞比亞他的兒子約拿單來了。亞多尼雅對他說：進來吧！你是個忠義的人，必是報好信息。
[bbe] And while the words were on his lips, Jonathan, the son of Abiathar the priest, came; and Adonijah said, Come in; for you are a man of good faith and the news which you have for us will be good.
[dunv] 他正說話<01696><8764>的時候，祭司<03548>亞比亞他<054>的兒子<01121>約拿單<03129>來了<0935><8804>。亞多尼雅<0138>對他說<0559><8799>：進來<0935><8798>罷！你是個忠義<02428>的人<0376><8676><0381>，必是報好<02896>信息<01319><8762>。
[big5] 約拿單對亞多尼雅說：我們的主大衛王誠然立所羅門為王了。
[bbe] And Jonathan, answering, said to Adonijah, Not so, but our lord King David has made Solomon king:
[dunv] 約拿單<03129>對亞多尼雅<0138>{<06030>}{<8799>}說<0559><8799>：我們的主<0113>大衛<01732>王<04428>誠然<061>立所羅門<08010>為王了<04427><8689>。
[big5] 王差遣祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都去使所羅門騎王的騾子。
[bbe] And he sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and they put him on the king's beast:
[dunv] 王<04428>差遣<07971><8799>祭司<03548>撒督<06659>、先知<05030>拿單<05416>、耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>比拿雅<01141>，和基利提人<03774>、比利提人<06432>都去使所羅門騎<07392><8686>王<04428>的騾子<06506>。
[big5] 祭司撒督和先知拿單在基訓已經膏他作王。眾人都從那裡歡呼著上來，聲音使城震動，這就是你們所聽見的聲音；
[bbe] And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet put the holy oil on him and made him king in Gihon; and they came back from there with joy, and the town was all worked up. This is the noise which has come to your ears.
[dunv] 祭司<03548>撒督<06659>和先知<05030>拿單<05416>在基訓<01521>已經膏<04886><8799>他作王<04428>。眾人都從那裡歡呼<08056>著上來<05927><8799>，聲音{<01949>}{<8735>}使城<07151>震動，這就是你們所聽見<08085><8804>的聲音<06963>；
[big5] 並且所羅門登了國位。
[bbe] And now Solomon is seated on the seat of the kingdom.
[dunv] 並且所羅門<08010>登了<03427><8804>國<04410>位<03678>。
[big5] 王的臣僕也來為我們的主大衛王祝福，說：願王的神使所羅門的名比王的名更尊榮；使他的國位比王的國位更大。王就在床上屈身下拜。
[bbe] And the king's servants came to our lord King David, blessing him and saying, May God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and the seat of his authority greater than your seat; and the king was bent low in worship on his bed.

[big5] 王又說：耶和華─以色列的神是應當稱頌的；因他賜我一人今日坐在我的位上，我也親眼看見了。
[bbe] Then the king said, May the God of Israel be praised, who has given one of my seed to be king in my place this day and has let my eyes see it.
[dunv] 王<04428>又說<0559><8804>：耶和華<03068>─以色列<03478>的神<0430>是應當稱頌<01288><8803>的；因他賜<05414><8804>我一人今日<03117>坐<03427><8802>在我的位<03678>上，我也親眼<05869>看見了<07200><8802>。
[big5] 亞多尼雅的眾客聽見這話就都驚懼，起來四散。
[bbe] And all the guests of Adonijah got up in fear and went away, every man to his place.
[dunv] 亞多尼雅<0138>的眾客<07121><8803>聽見這話就都驚懼<02729><8799>，{<0376>}起來<06965><8799>四散<03212><8799>{<01870>}。
[big5] 亞多尼雅懼怕所羅門，就起來，去抓住祭壇的角。
[bbe] And Adonijah himself was full of fear because of Solomon; and he got up and went to the altar, and put his hands on its horns.
[dunv] 亞多尼雅<0138>懼怕<03372><8804>{<06440>}所羅門<08010>，就起來<06965><8799>，{<03212>}{<8799>}去抓住<02388><8686>祭壇<04196>的角<07161>。
[big5] 有人告訴所羅門說：亞多尼雅懼怕所羅門王，現在抓住祭壇的角，說：願所羅門王今日向我起誓，必不用刀殺僕人。
[bbe] And they gave Solomon word of it, saying, See, Adonijah goes in such fear of King Solomon, that he has put his hands on the horns of the altar, saying, Let King Solomon first give me his oath that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.
[dunv] 有人告訴<05046><8714>所羅門<08010>說<0559><8800>：亞多尼雅<0138>懼怕<03372><8804>所羅門<08010>王<04428>，現在抓住<0270><8804>祭壇<04196>的角<07161>，說<0559><8800>：願所羅門<08010>王<04428>今日<03117>向我起誓<07650><8735>，必不用刀<02719>殺<04191><8686>僕人<05650>。
[big5] 所羅門說：他若作忠義的人，連一根頭髮也不致落在地上；他若行惡，必要死亡。
[bbe] And Solomon said, If he is seen to be a man of good faith, not a hair of him will be touched; but if any wrongdoing is seen in him, he is to be put to death.
[dunv] 所羅門<08010>說<0559><8799>：他若作忠義<02428>的人<01121>，連一根頭髮<08185>也不致落<05307><8799>在地<0776>上；他若{<04672>}{<8735>}行惡<07451>，必要死亡<04191><8804>。
[big5] 於是所羅門王差遣人，使亞多尼雅從壇上下來，他就來，向所羅門王下拜；所羅門對他說：你回家去吧！
[bbe] So King Solomon sent, and they took him down from the altar. And he came and gave honour to King Solomon; and Solomon said to him, Go to your house.
[dunv] 於是所羅門<08010>王<04428>差遣<07971><8799>人，使亞多尼雅從壇<04196>上下來<03381><8686>，他就來<0935><8799>，向所羅門<08010>王<04428>下拜<07812><8691>；所羅門<08010>對他說<0559><8799>：你回家<01004>去<03212><8798>罷！
