1. [big5] 掃羅死後，大衛擊殺亞瑪力人回來，在洗革拉住了兩天。
   [bbe] Now after the death of Saul, when David, having come back from the destruction of the Amalekites, had been in Ziklag for two days;
   

2. [big5] 第三天，有一人從掃羅的營裡出來，衣服撕裂，頭蒙灰塵，到大衛面前伏地叩拜。
   [bbe] On the third day a man came from Saul's tents, with his clothing out of order and earth on his head: and when he came to David, he went down on the earth and gave him honour.
   

3. [big5] 大衛問他說：你從哪裡來？他說：我從以色列的營裡逃來。
   [bbe] And David said to him, Where have you come from? And he said, I have come in flight from the tents of Israel.
   

4. [big5] 大衛又問他說：事情怎樣？請你告訴我。他回答說：百姓從陣上逃跑，也有許多人仆倒死亡；掃羅和他兒子約拿單也死了。
   [bbe] And David said to him, How did things go? Give me the news. And in answer he said, The people have gone in flight from the fight, and a great number of them are dead; and Saul and his son Jonathan are dead.
   

5. [big5] 大衛問報信的少年人說：你怎麼知道掃羅和他兒子約拿單死了呢？
   [bbe] And David said to the young man who gave him the news, Why are you certain that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?
   

6. [big5] 報信的少年人說：我偶然到基利波山，看見掃羅伏在自己槍上，有戰車、馬兵緊緊地追他。
   [bbe] And the young man said, I came by chance to Mount Gilboa, and I saw Saul supporting himself on his spear; and the war-carriages and horsemen overtook him.
   

7. [big5] 他回頭看見我，就呼叫我。我說：我在這裡。
   [bbe] And looking back, he saw me and gave a cry to me. And answering him I said, Here am I.
   

8. [big5] 他問我說：你是什麼人？我說：我是亞瑪力人。
   [bbe] And he said to me, Who are you? And I said, I am an Amalekite.
   

9. [big5] 他說：請你來，將我殺死；因為痛苦抓住我，我的生命尚存。
   [bbe] Then he said to me, Come here to my side, and put me to death, for the pain of death has me in its grip but my life is still strong in me.
   

10. [big5] 我準知他仆倒必不能活，就去將他殺死，把他頭上的冠冕、臂上的鐲子拿到我主這裡。
    [bbe] So I put my foot on him and gave him his death-blow, because I was certain that he would not go on living after his fall: and I took the crown from his head and the band from his arm, and I have them here for my lord.
    

11. [big5] 大衛就撕裂衣服，跟隨他的人也是如此，
    [bbe] Then David gave way to bitter grief, and so did all the men who were with him:
    

12. [big5] 而且悲哀哭號，禁食到晚上，是因掃羅和他兒子約拿單，並耶和華的民以色列家的人，倒在刀下。
    [bbe] And till evening they gave themselves to sorrow and weeping, and took no food, weeping for Saul and for Jonathan, his son, and for the people of the Lord and for the men of Israel; because they had come to their end by the sword.
    

13. [big5] 大衛問報信的少年人說：你是哪裡的人？他說：我是亞瑪力客人的兒子。
    [bbe] And David said to the young man who had given him the news, Where do you come from? And he said, I am the son of a man from a strange land; I am an Amalekite.
    

14. [big5] 大衛說：你伸手殺害耶和華的受膏者，怎麼不畏懼呢？
    [bbe] And David said to him, Had you no fear of stretching out your hand to put to death the one marked with the holy oil?
    

15. [big5] 大衛叫了一個少年人來，說：你去殺他吧！
    [bbe] And David sent for one of his young men and said, Go near and put an end to him. And he put him to death.
    

16. [big5] 大衛對他說：你流人血的罪歸到自己的頭上，因為你親口作見證說：我殺了耶和華的受膏者。少年人就把他殺了。
    [bbe] And David said to him, May your blood be on your head; for your mouth has given witness against you, saying, I have put to death the man marked with the holy oil.
    

17. [big5] 大衛作哀歌，弔掃羅和他兒子約拿單，
    [bbe] Then David made this song of grief for Saul and Jonathan, his son:
    

18. [big5] 且吩咐將這歌教導猶大人。這歌名叫弓歌，寫在雅煞珥書上。
    [bbe] (It is recorded in the book of Jashar for teaching to the sons of Judah) and he said:
    

19. [big5] 歌中說：以色列啊，你尊榮者在山上被殺！大英雄何竟死亡！
    [bbe] The glory, O Israel, is dead on your high places! How have the great ones been made low!
    

20. [big5] 不要在迦特報告；不要在亞實基倫街上傳揚；免得非利士的女子歡樂；免得未受割禮之人的女子矜誇。
    [bbe] Give no news of it in Gath, let it not be said in the streets of Ashkelon; or the daughters of the Philistines will be glad, the daughters of men without circumcision will be uplifted in joy.
    

21. [big5] 基利波山哪，願你那裡沒有雨露！願你田地無土產可作供物！因為英雄的盾牌在那裡被污丟棄；掃羅的盾牌彷彿未曾抹油。
    [bbe] O mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain on you, you fields of death: for there the arms of the strong have been shamed, the arms of Saul, as if he had not been marked with the holy oil.
    

22. [big5] 約拿單的弓箭非流敵人的血不退縮；掃羅的刀劍非剖勇士的油不收回。
    [bbe] From the blood of the dead, from the fat of the strong, the bow of Jonathan was not turned back, the sword of Saul did not come back unused.
    

23. [big5] 掃羅和約拿單─活時相悅相愛，死時也不分離─他們比鷹更快，比獅子還強。
    [bbe] Saul and Jonathan were loved and pleasing; in their lives and in their death they were not parted; they went more quickly than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
    

24. [big5] 以色列的女子啊，當為掃羅哭號！他曾使你們穿朱紅色的美衣，使你們衣服有黃金的妝飾。
    [bbe] O daughters of Israel, have sorrow for Saul, by whom you were delicately clothed in robes of red, with ornaments of gold on your dresses.
    

25. [big5] 英雄何竟在陣上仆倒！約拿單何竟在山上被殺！
    [bbe] How have the great ones been made low in the fight! Jonathan is dead on your high places.
    

26. [big5] 我兄約拿單哪，我為你悲傷！我甚喜悅你！你向我發的愛情奇妙非常，過於婦女的愛情。
    [bbe] I am full of grief for you, my brother Jonathan: very dear have you been to me: your love for me was a wonder, greater than the love of women.
    

27. [big5] 英雄何竟仆倒！戰具何竟滅沒！
    [bbe] How have the great ones been made low, and the arms of war broken!
