1. [big5] 以色列啊，你當聽！你今日要過約但河，進去趕出比你強大的國民，得著廣大堅固、高得頂天的城邑。
   [bbe] Give ear, O Israel: today you are to go over Jordan, to take the heritage of nations greater and stronger than yourselves, and towns of great size with walls as high as heaven;
   

2. [big5] 那民是亞衲族的人，又大又高，是你所知道的；也曾聽見有人指著他們說：誰能在亞衲族人面前站立得住呢？
   [bbe] A people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, of whom you have knowledge and of whom it has been said, All are forced to give way before the sons of Anak.
   

3. [big5] 你今日當知道，耶和華─你的神在你前面過去，如同烈火，要滅絕他們，將他們制伏在你面前。這樣，你就要照耶和華所說的趕出他們，使他們速速滅亡。
   [bbe] Be certain then today that it is the Lord your God who goes over before you like an all-burning fire; he will send destruction on them, crushing them before you; and you will send them in flight, putting an end to them quickly, as the Lord has said.
   

4. [big5] 耶和華─你的神將這些國民從你面前攆出以後，你心裡不可說：耶和華將我領進來得這地是因我的義。其實，耶和華將他們從你面前趕出去是因他們的惡。
   [bbe] And after the Lord has sent them in flight from before you, say not in your heart, Because of my righteousness the Lord has given me this land; when it is because of their evil-doing that the Lord is driving these nations out before you.
   

5. [big5] 你進去得他們的地，並不是因你的義，也不是因你心裡正直，乃是因這些國民的惡，耶和華─你的神將他們從你面前趕出去，又因耶和華要堅定他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓所應許的話。
   [bbe] Not for your righteousness or because your hearts are upright are you going in to take their land; but because of the evil-doing of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and to give effect to his oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
   

6. [big5] 你當知道，耶和華─你神將這美地賜你為業，並不是因你的義；你本是硬著頸項的百姓。
   [bbe] Be certain then that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land as a reward for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.
   

7. [big5] 你當記念不忘，你在曠野怎樣惹耶和華─你神發怒。自從你出了埃及地的那日，直到你們來到這地方，你們時常悖逆耶和華。
   [bbe] Keep well in mind how you made the Lord your God angry in the waste land; from the day when you went out of Egypt till you came to this place, you have gone against the orders of the Lord.
   

8. [big5] 你們在何烈山又惹耶和華發怒；他惱怒你們，要滅絕你們。
   [bbe] Again in Horeb you made the Lord angry, and in his wrath he would have put an end to you.
   

9. [big5] 我上了山，要領受兩塊石版，就是耶和華與你們立約的版。那時我在山上住了四十晝夜，沒有吃飯，也沒有喝水。
   [bbe] When I had gone up into the mountain to be given the stones on which was recorded the agreement which the Lord made with you, I was on the mountain for forty days and forty nights without taking food or drinking water.
   

10. [big5] 耶和華把那兩塊石版交給我，是神用指頭寫的。版上所寫的是照耶和華在大會的日子、在山上、從火中對你們所說的一切話。
    [bbe] And the Lord gave me the two stones with writing on them done by the finger of God: on them were recorded all the words which the Lord said to you on the mountain out of the heart of the fire, on the day of the great meeting.
    

11. [big5] 過了四十晝夜，耶和華把那兩塊石版，就是約版，交給我。
    [bbe] Then at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me those stones, the stones of the agreement.
    

12. [big5] 對我說：你起來，趕快下去！因為你從埃及領出來的百姓已經敗壞了自己；他們快快地偏離了我所吩咐的道，為自己鑄成了偶像。
    [bbe] And the Lord said to me, Get up now, and go down quickly from this place; for the people you have taken out of Egypt have given themselves over to evil; they have quickly been turned from the way in which I gave them orders to go; they have made themselves a metal image.
    

13. [big5] 耶和華又對我說：我看這百姓是硬著頸項的百姓。
    [bbe] And then the Lord said to me, I have seen that this people is stiff-necked:
    

14. [big5] 你且由著我，我要滅絕他們，將他們的名從天下塗抹，使你的後裔比他們成為更大更強的國。
    [bbe] Let me send destruction on them till their very name is cut off; and I will make of you a nation greater and stronger than they.
    

15. [big5] 於是我轉身下山，山被火燒著，兩塊約版在我兩手之中。
    [bbe] So turning round I came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire; and the two stones of the agreement were in my hands.
    

16. [big5] 我一看見你們得罪了耶和華─你們的神，鑄成了牛犢，快快地偏離了耶和華所吩咐你們的道，
    [bbe] And I saw that you had done evil against the Lord, and had made for yourselves a metal image of a young ox: you had quickly been turned from the way in which the Lord had given you orders to go.
    

17. [big5] 我就把那兩塊版從我手中扔下去，在你們眼前摔碎了。
    [bbe] And I let the stones go from my hands, and they were broken before your eyes.
    

18. [big5] 因你們所犯的一切罪，行了耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒，我就像從前俯伏在耶和華面前四十晝夜，沒有吃飯，也沒有喝水。
    [bbe] And I went down on my face before the Lord, as at the first, for forty days and forty nights, without taking food or drinking water, because of all your sin, in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and moving him to wrath.
    

19. [big5] 我因耶和華向你們大發烈怒，要滅絕你們，就甚害怕；但那次耶和華又應允了我。
    [bbe] For I was full of fear because of the wrath of the Lord which was burning against you, with your destruction in view. But again the Lord's ear was open to my prayer.
    

20. [big5] 耶和華也向亞倫甚是發怒，要滅絕他；那時我又為亞倫祈禱。
    [bbe] And the Lord, in his wrath, would have put Aaron to death: and I made prayer for Aaron at the same time.
    

21. [big5] 我把那叫你們犯罪所鑄的牛犢用火焚燒，又搗碎磨得很細，以致細如灰塵，我就把這灰塵撒在從山上流下來的溪水中。
    [bbe] And I took your sin, the image which you had made, and put it in the fire and had it hammered and crushed very small till it was only dust: and the dust I put in the stream flowing down from the mountain.
    

22. [big5] 你們在他備拉、瑪撒、基博羅哈他瓦又惹耶和華發怒。
    [bbe] Again at Taberah and at Massah and at Kibroth-hattaavah you made the Lord angry.
    

23. [big5] 耶和華打發你們離開加低斯巴尼亞，說：你們上去得我所賜給你們的地。那時你們違背了耶和華─你們神的命令，不信服他，不聽從他的話。
    [bbe] And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and take the land which I have given you; you went against the orders of the Lord your God, and had no faith in him, and would not give ear to his voice.
    

24. [big5] 自從我認識你們以來，你們常常悖逆耶和華。
    [bbe] From the day when I first had knowledge of you, you have gone against the word of the Lord.
    

25. [big5] 我因耶和華說要滅絕你們，就在耶和華面前照舊俯伏四十晝夜。
    [bbe] So I went down on my face in prayer before the Lord for forty days and forty nights as I did at first; because the Lord had said that he would put an end to you.
    

26. [big5] 我祈禱耶和華說：主耶和華啊，求你不要滅絕你的百姓。他們是你的產業，是你用大力救贖的，用大能從埃及領出來的。
    [bbe] And I made prayer to the Lord and said, O Lord God, do not send destruction on your people and your heritage, to whom, by your great power, you have given salvation, whom you have taken out of Egypt by the strength of your hand.
    

27. [big5] 求你記念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各，不要想念這百姓的頑梗、邪惡、罪過，
    [bbe] Keep in mind your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not looking at the hard heart of this people, or their evil-doing and their sin:
    

28. [big5] 免得你領我們出來的那地之人說，耶和華因為不能將這百姓領進他所應許之地，又因恨他們，所以領他們出去，要在曠野殺他們。
    [bbe] Or it may be said in the land from which you have taken them, Because the Lord was not able to take them into the land which he said he would give them, and because of his hate for them, he has taken them out to put them to death in the waste land.
    

29. [big5] 其實他們是你的百姓，你的產業，是你用大能和伸出來的膀臂領出來的。
    [bbe] But still they are your people and your heritage, whom you took out by your great power and by your stretched-out arm.
